Every time that number ten has the ball in his hands, all eyes are on him. On Thursday, he had a deep throw to Jeff Cotton towards the sideline that only he could grab. Herbert is also spreading the ball to numerous receivers.

There have been some negatives, however. As everyone saw on Tuesday nights edition of Hard Knocks, Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn had to pull Herbert to the side to let him know he was tipping off the defense with his snap count on whether the play was a run or a pass.
At times, Herbert rushes his passes, and it comes up incomplete, which is typically seen from a rookie quarterback.

K’Lavon Chaisson working his way back
Rookies take time to develop, and Chaisson is no different. Working his way back from a slight hamstring pull, Chaisson had the look of a rookie today, but flashed plenty of times in the process. As a stand-up rusher in college, the Jaguars have been working Chaisson in a three-point stance more often than not, especially given the depth at the position.

For the second-straight day, Chaisson was getting early work in with defensive line coach Jason Rebrovich, working on the finer points of reading an offensive line, and learning how to come out of his stance with precision. It’ll be a work in progress, but the Jaguars are confident Chaisson will become part of a dynamic one-two punch with Allen.

https://raiderswire.usatoday.com/20...d-wr-henry-ruggs-still-working-on-connection/

Just about every day in camp there is a pass Carr throws for Ruggs that Ruggs has to slow up to catch. That’s in part an anticipation and timing issue — if Carr had recognized Ruggs was going to break open and threw it earlier the ball would have been in the right spot — and in part just getting to know the kind of burst and speed his new top pick receiver possesses.

It’s still early yet, as the first practice that had offense vs defense was just four days ago. No one is expecting perfection right out the gates. It takes chemistry and it takes trust which takes time.

https://247sports.com/Article/Henry...e-Jon-Gruden-Alabama-Crimson-Tide--150538303/

“Ruggs emerges as a deep threat for Derek Carr and also provides big plays in the return game,” Jeremiah said. “The Raiders find creative ways to get the ball in his hands (fly sweeps, reverses, etc.) and his presence creates more space for Josh Jacobs to run the ball.”

While Ruggs biggest virtue will be his speed, there is a chance that his touches could be limited as he continues to develop his route tree. Jeremiah said his worst-case scenario might levy on his ability to differentiate his routes against strong defenses.

“He has his share of splash plays, but the volume of touches is very limited,” Jeremiah said. “His speed benefits the offense, but his stats don't jump off the page.”
exactly what i sad about ruggs all along. shocking they picked him over ceedee tbh.

How has Mekhi Becton spent his first couple of training camp practices with the Jets? By dominating in the trenches and drawing rave reviews from veterans and coaches alike.

Becton has done nothing but make headlines for his mammoth stature and strong play to begin camp. The Louisville product was viewed as somewhat raw coming out of college, but has looked refined on the practice field and is making waves with his play.

AJ Terrell
"He's everything a coach really wants as a player, because he's like a sponge. Anything you give him, he soaks it up and then he goes out there and he tries to do it exactly the way that you asked him to do it. And that's what will give him a great opportunity to be a great player, because he has a skill set that is unique. If he can get his skill set to match the hunger that he has and the drive that he's been putting forth to learning this package and being part of this team, we could have a really good football player." – Joe Whitt Jr., Falcons secondary coach

It didn't take Terrell long to make his presence felt with his new team. The former Westlake High School star lined up against Calvin Ridley during one of Atlanta's first days of competitive on-field activities and stayed right in his hip pocket before leaping to snag the ball at its highest point.

If Jefferson is the No. 3 wide receiver in Minnesota, he isn't getting on the field much. Jefferson was arguably the best slot receiver in college last season, but the lack of "11 personnel" hurts his chances with the Vikings unless offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak adds a new wrinkle to the offense different from Kevin Stefanski.

Whether Jefferson is a good fit with the Vikings remains to be seen, but he still needs to acclimate himself to the offense. Kirk Cousins doesn't appear too concerned with his progress.

Enter rookie safety Xavier McKinney who Big Blue stole in the second round in what was considered one of the steals of the draft by experts league-wide.

McKinney is making his transition to the NFL look easy according to reports on the ground, as he routinely is disrupting plays in practice. More importantly, he’s taking Joe Judge’s hardened approach to things in stride as he’s used to going through tough training camps at Alabama under head coach Nick Saban, who Judge worked under for several years.

He's going to be great, imo.

In a trade down scenario, he would've been one of my targets late in the 1st.

Hear Jaylon Johnson is doing well. Wanted him over Diggs. Diggs has more upside but Johnson was a more sure thing imo..........especially immediate impact wise

Tagovailoa completed six of 15 passes for 99 yards with two interceptions in Friday's practice. Rosen completed six of 14 throws, for 104 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. Tagovailoa was sacked once, and Rosen was sacked three times. Dolphins missing Fitzpatrick.

Yeah, I know it is early but I thought Dak started off looking pretty good in his first practices. Can't remember for sure. Anyone remember? I know he looked good in his first preseason game.
Dak fumbled his first snap in practice if my memory serves me correctly

Yes, on this site. Sorry, I should have made my comments more clear. Personally, I would be tickled if Hurts won the job.

Barring injury, there is no way Hurts win the job.......this year.
It might be interesting down the road though.
They wouldn't have burned a 2nd rounder on him if he didn't have a chance.
