Not many upsets today other than maybe UCLA and Oregon

Nice win by the Frogs!
My daughter is at UT and was at the game, so she wasn't thrilled. lol

Looks like a few teams may move up 1-2 spots, but not a ton of movement expected.

Honest and innocent questions here...
1) Are you a Notre Dame grad?
2) If not, what made you a fan?

Just curious. Over the years, I've found that name-brand schools usually have a far lower percentage of their fans that went there (or had family that went there).
Schools like Ohio State, Alabama, USC, and Notre Dame may have only a small fraction of the fan base with any ties to the schools. Where Texas Tech, Houston, etc may have a far greater percentage.

Just an observation over time and thru experience, not a judgment.

Thanks

exactly....and probably have no ties at all to either program or school.
Name brands.
Texas has that too, of course. UT football is for sure a name brand, even if they arent a power in the standings.

To be fair, I do have a buddy who went to ND undergrad and Duke grad......talk about rare.

Growing up during my childhood in the 70s and 80s here in North Carolina I rarely came across a duke fan

No doubt!
Carolina and State were the kings

I get the two extremes with my two schools

Tar Heel basketball is as name brand as it gets and I suspect the vast majority of their fans did not attend UNC or even have family that did.

on the other hand

You can go to an East Carolina football game and the vast majority of the 40-50k that can be at a game will have either gone there or had family that did. Not name brand...lol
Probably the same with App State too.

It's an interesting dynamic.

But yea, I would say Duke basketball and Notre Dame football might be the two most extreme as fan as number of national fans yet so few with real ties

no...not a grad.
just a subway alum.
it was watching rb allen pinkett.
then watching tony rice...tim brown...chris zorich and the national title squad that beat wva and major harris.
and in school i did a book report on knute rockne and just fell hard for their history and tradition.
and those golden hats with no logo.
grew up here in oklahoma...ou fan.
but after switzer left...and moving away to kansas...my fandom for ou just wasn't the same.
i've just always finding myself rooting for notre dame.
absolutely love their history.
those uni's.
and rb allen pinkett.
Go♧Irish.

Baylor dominated the line scrimmage all day and then curled up in fetal position with conservative ball the last drive.
A rare 3 and out
Punt
TCU kicks winning FG with no time left to win 29-28
:lmao:

TCU has been doing this all year, so give them credit!

Pretty wild day in college football.
Lots of near escapes and upsets.

None of the top 4 were impressive, but they all held serve and will remain in their spots
Survive and advance
