Draft Day 2024 First round pick chat

The debate will be Barton versus Guyton and whoever we draft at 73.

I think the Cowboys might have gotten this one right.

I hope so, after this crazy off season we really need to get something right.

Guyton was the guy I mocked the most in the first round. Great that we were able to trade down, pick up a 3 and still get him. Very good first day. And Brooks is not absolutely necessary in the 2nd round.....there are other very good RBs in rounds 3-5.

Love the kids attitude already. Loves the game, loves the team and is ready to roll. Him and Smith on the left side will be very nasty. It might take him 2 years to reach full potential, but he will be fine.

Great first day of the draft for the Cowboys, IMO. I love the pick at 29, Tyler Guyton. Now we have 3 picks tomorrow... 56, 73, and 87.

The trade we made was great btw. Now we have ammo to do real damage tomorrow. Could even trade back again and get a 4th and another 5th.

I wish I had a better picture or understanding of JPJ's medical issues. He seems to be falling fast. Projected in the 3rd.

why? You have about four times a better shot of getting a starter with a third rd pick and we have two of them.

just saying we could use one of them if we need. We need picks badly.

I think people view Barton as the “safer” pick.

Less chance of busting.

But Guyton has an even higher ceiling than Barton. Just more risk of
Busting.

But they also got the 3rd so.

If they can now land a center, RB and LB tomorrow. Could be a nice draft.

I'd prefer a DT over an LB. We at least addressed LB in free agency.

Especially if we get a center and he's not much of a drop-off from Barton. I believe both JPJ and Frazier will be gone before our 56th pick, but there's a good chance Puni and Van Pran will be there at 73.

Yes, Barton was my guy, hoping he would last, just a few picks away from us. However, that third rounder from Detroit is valuable and Guyton just needs work and coaching but has all the tools, so I will see how he develops before I crap on the pick.

Yeah,for me it didn't help that JPJ was still available when they took Guyton either.

Clearly, it was a value pick based on where he was ranked. I valued Barton/JPJ and Newton more, but Dallas took probably the highest valued player left at 29.

I really like Barton, but I also wanted Linderbaum 2 years ago and we went T instead and it turned out pretty well.
Guyton and Smith on the left side, Martin and Steele on the right looks amazing from a running the ball perspective.
My #1 target at 56 just went 32 (haha).
So my question is this:
What if we JPJ/Frazier were still there in the 35-40 range?
Would you move 56 and 73 to move up and get one?
I'd definitely do it for 56 and 87, even though I like a lot of guys projected in the 3rd.
Imagine getting Guyton and Frazier in this draft, and still having a 3rd rounder.
Then we'd have Tyler/Tyler/Zach/Zach and Terrance, haha.
