Question we are picking #58 in the 2nd round? Is this class deep in the 2nd round ? I ask because we pick so late in round 2. I hope we aren't stuck with a player graded in the 3rd round but we have to pick in the 2nd

DL is the biggest strength of this draft and IMO DT is our biggest need. I feel really good about a player being available at 58 that will be a top 50 talent at a position if need.

It’ll be similar to the CB class when we drafted Chido, he was a fringe 1sr rounder and we got him in the 2nd bc the class was so deep.

Always looking to upgrade. Lindstrum is an upgrade over our LG.

Looney might be able to play LG if Frederick is back, which seems to be the rumor now.

There is no chance I am using our 2nd round pick on another OG candidate. You have some options with Looney, Williams, etc.

This is supposed to be a historic draft in terms of DL if you believe some of the pundits. So at the very least, there should be some quality DL there at 58.

I agree, makes no sense to me regardless of the situation with Freds.

Unless there's a run of them, but with the popularity of the high-octane passing offenses in the league currently, and the need to protect their star quarterbacks we may see more of a run on offensive linemen and wide receivers and pass catching tight ends.

Would be nice to have a first round ranked DT fall to 58, or to have the Cowboys move up a bit in the draft...

Best case scenario is teams draft offense early and often.

Which means we’ll go another direction....”that’s what they’ll be expecting.”

Jerry partly views the draft as a means of showing the world how smart he, and by implication the Cowboys, are. Sometimes it works out, as drafting J. Smith (though since the Cowboys' doctor did the surgery he had inside info on is expected recovery) and in drafting Frederick, e.g.

But then you've got the Bobby Carpenter Jason Williams picks, total reaches.

It does appear that Jerry's input is slowing, we've had much better picks the last few years, hopefully that will continue...

I think that’s be a reach for those DTs.

And why are we looking at Gs? Do you not feel good about the 2nd rounder we just drafted?

I would rather Draft OL and sign a TE and Sheldon Richardson and Earl Thomas in Free Agency

Draft OL to play which position? The only thing that would make sense to me is C if we got bad news on Travis...but everything has been positive I’ve heard thus far.

Regardless of which side he plays he’s not a speed rusher. He’s a twitchier version of Crawford. He’s not big enough to play 3T and not a speed rusher which are the 2 spots that are needed on DL.

Gregory is not a 3 down player yet and not ideal to HAVE to rely on him
Well we will see. People didn't want TJ Watts 2 years ago and were OK with Taco. Look what he has done since. He would have been better for us than Taco even if he played with his hand in the dirt.

I wouldn’t be mad if we added 2 safeties with how inconsistent our starters are.

I think Adderley goes somewhere in the top 50.

We should continue to follow our offseason strategy and sign one bridge FA at position of need then draft another 1 or 2 more at that position

TE- sign Demetrius Harris and draft another
DT- sign Danny Shelton and draft another or two
S- Sign one of the plethora of talented FA safeties, I'll go Vacarro for this and draft one more, and sign another UDFA
RB- sign an affordable RB3 whether it's Rod or a Jalen Richard and draft a starter worthy RB in the mid rounds to complement Zeke
WR- Assuming Twill, Hurns, and Beasley are gone we need a deep threat, big body slot, and jump ball specialist. Sign Tavon and hope for better health as deep threat, use pick on H/W/S jump ball as this draft is loaded with them, and use late rounder on slot.

Tackle/Oline is the only difficult one as we absolutely need a swing T, but have zero room for an extra addition. Oline is already set with Cwill, Fred, Martin, Looney, XSF, and I like Ehinger. Starters are set with Collins and Smith outside. Not much room.

Yea, I’ve liked that strategy in the past. Double down on FA and the draft. It will just depend on if we can make the money work.

Very good list. I'm not big on Tillery but everyone else would be a nice addition at 58. Bryant seems to be slipping down boards.

Kris Richard + Nasir Adderly. Nothing like having a home grown secondary like DAL does now...add the cherry on top at single high w/ a ball hawk.
