A team will offer Steele over and beyond what Dallas will match. He's a goner guys. At least we will get a 2nd rd pick.

I think Dallas is dangling Steele for a reason. If they get the extra draft capital, they can get Ramsey or a big name wr.

He tore his ACL 4 months ago. He is 100% missing half the season.
Ok. Let’s bet on that. He’s not a skill player. SJ just said he’d be ready for TC. You got him missing 5 months more than SJ. Not happening

Anyone needing a RT can swoop in with a 2nd round pick and money whip him. Dumb move as usual.

I think this has been the plan. Not a coincidence S Jones just said he was ahead of schedule in rehab. Now this, to me it looks like they're shopping him without saying their shopping him.
With the Oline in a state of flux - Tyron Smith status, who starts where, LG plans, position depth - why put out (in your opinion of what the FO is doing) trade feelers on Steele? Are you thinking the Cowboys have an eye on a draft prospect that fits the bill with the compensation pick - therefore being a ceiling upgrade at OT?

Imo they should have put the 1st round tender on him. Somebody picking at 62 could easily give that up.

Hes worth more than that to us imho
IF we choose not to match the contract
They still have the option to match any offers he gets. I think a 2nd round tender is probably the right move, although if they want to sign him to a long term deal this may not matter in the long run.

How exactly do tenders work? ( Sorry for my ignorance)
Go to NFL.Com/free agency explainer (my apologies - have yet to learn the link procedure for articles, etc.).
It was posted this past Tuesday (Feb 28th)

If Steele is gone I think peters is back as the swing and they draft a g early. Tyler Lt Tyron RT and plays 3 more yrs atleast. Crazy that this is tyrons 11th yr and he barely turned 32 in Dec.

Keep him for this year. But you better draft someone to take his place. In the first round if available. That will force his hand and his agents hand to get a deal done. Maybe.

Steele is recovering from a ACL and MCL injury plus they can match any offer if they like. No team is going to touch that.

Teams put a tender on rfa.

They can put a 2nd or a 1st round tender and if they sign with another team that team has to give Dallas the 2nd round tender they put on Steele.

Why not? Jones can't just be blowing smoke because once Steele goes and visits other teams, they're going to do medicals. So if it checks out, and his age he would def get scooped up quick. Especially with no elite OTs in this draft

We can match the other teams offer. No need to pay him a 1st round tender.

I'm good with trading him for Deandre Hopkins straight up.

Draft o-line with our 1st again and maybe get Jalen Carter with our 2nd moving up if need be.

RB in the 3rd to team with Pollard. Especially if Zeke doesn't take a pay cut down to $7 million under.

Pick up a difference maker or 2 in FA at LB and CB. LB if we don't sign LVE. Draft 1 in the 4th down for depth.

Sign Donovan Wilson.

With our ability to draft linemen and also having Peters and Tyron on the roster getting a 2nd back is interesting. I wonder if they might prefer that route.
