Does it? At 32 could you make it back to play in a season your bone was off the bone? Let's go back to why Tyron has had a tough time with injuries. It's kinda by his own doing, but didn't he wait a couple yrs to have the surgery on his neck? That start to trigger other things. He's actually had a few surgery to correct these issues over the past few yrs. He was said to be completely healthy this yr until that muscle off the bone.

But for me I'll take a healthy 32 yr old future hofer, over a udfa that's developed into a good rt but is coming off a torn acl AND
He hasn’t played a full season for years. To rely on him now to be the starter all year is ridiculous. Steele, who I was never a believer in, has turned into a solid starter. Have to keep him.

He hasn’t played a full season in about 6 years and wasn’t great when he did play this year.

And I just spoke about this. It started with his neck, and he refused to get surgery for yrs. That started to trigger other injuries. He's had multiple surgeries fixing these problems over the past few yrs.

Steele played good, but let's not forget all the 3 and 4 flag games he's had. He's made tyron holding penalties look like a small number.

They better not let him walk. He’s better than anything we can get in the second round I’m sorry

Lol whoa, looks like they might be getting a 2nd round pick this yr. Think this might be more with Tryon than Steele. Could easily see tyron play 3 more yrs he's only 32.
They aren't going to lose him.

If they had given him the rd1 tender I'd agree. But the rd2 idk, Dallas could easily lose him.like I said all depends on his medicals when he visits other teams. But with how certain Jones was last yr bout Clark. Don't dismiss him on what he said bout Steele and pollard

When it comes to drafting in the 2nd round, he Cowboys history is not exactly stellar.

What do they hope to get with a 2nd round pick, an offensive linemen that just might work himself up to the level of Steele?

Ironically, the Cowboys may inadvertently benefit from Steele's injury if it should make teams a little more hesitant in pursuing him
They aren't losing Steele and are saving money by making him a 2nd round tender.

Risky business since this draft is not deep in OL and so many teams needed depth last season.

They can match any offer that another team makes.

These guys aren’t like brand new because they had a surgery. He’s missed 33 of the last 50 games. I like Tyron on the roster if he’s the swing guy. Maybe the starter if Steele isn’t ready. An available Tyron is a nice to have, just can’t put all our eggs in that basket.

The difficulty playing g LT and RT are night and day. LT you're getting the number 1 guy the speed. On the Right side Tyron will be getting the run DE, the strong guy. Lol Tyron uses knee braces as arm braces. Tyron played just as good as Steele with 1 healthy hammy. And you're right those missed games are big for big injuries right? Steele barely in his 3rd yr, already damaged goods right? Torn acl and mcl. This is how it starts right?

Just because they tendered him doesn't mean that they can't sign him to a long term deal this offseason. All that is is a marker. Considering that the team is still over the cap as we speak, they went with a second round tender to save over a million against the cap prior to the FA period.
