The problem is he is not asking for risk/upside kind of money. He’s asking for complete upside kind of money.
Asking is one thing...

Getting is another...

Watch he's going to get 10 mil year with some upside

He would be much more than a replacement for Shultz. He is fantastic. And his hands are probably the best in the whole draft. Dude catches everything.

He was about all Utah had on offense. Every defense went into the games saying, “We have to stop Kincaid”, and it didn’t matter. He lit them up anyway.

Unfortunately, Kincaid will more likely than not be gone by the time Dallas is on the clock.
TE/RB? RB's usually show up around the 20's as well.

I will say this, with Lamb, Gallup, and OBJ if Dak cant get it done then we know beyond a shadow of a doubt we need a new QB..............no excuses with this WR core, NONE!!!
Why? He couldn’t get it done with cooper lamb and Gallup with 2 good knees?

Other than the salary cap I don’t see any real downside. At all. He instantly makes our offense considerably better.

OBJ is coming off 2 ACL injuries and wants top dollar. That is a hard no.

I rather trade a 3rd for Hopkins. He is due 35 million over the next two years or 17.5 per year, good numbers. Plus he has shown he still has plenty in the tank. This is the way to go.

If Bijan Robinson drops to Dallas they should draft him. You would then have Lamb, Hopkins, Gallup, Ferguson, with Robinson & Pollard as your primary weapons. That dog will hunt.
I'm not even big on trading for Hop but I'd much rather see that happen than overpaying OBJ's ACL's. Beyond stupid.

Dallas is off to a good start this offseason. Giving OBJ a huge contract and then drafting a stiff TE with the first round pick would pretty much ruin that.

Yeah, if we sign OBJ then I dont think we are going to go WR in the first round, especially after we reworked Gallup's contract and the out they had next year is now gone.

So you got Lamb, Gallup, and now presumably OBJ all on multi-year contracts..............would be stupid to draft another WR in the first round.

So pick 26 has to be either OL/DL or possibly HB.
I still think we need a quality WR backup because OBJ is no lock to stay durable all year.

It's not really a 2x tear....it was more of a tear that wasn't fixed properly. Let's be clear and fair on it, the fact is that he had a very bad injury that wasn't fixed properly and now has had it corrected and an extended time to heal.

There is risk and there is upside
Like Jake mentioned above though, you could get D-Hop on what would likely be a similar cap hit. His injuries have been far less significant and he's played through most of them other than the mcl tear. Hard pass on OBJ
