3 biggest plays you've seen in your time as a Cowboys fan

I think a case can be made that for positive impact, the Hail Mary is #1 all-time for the franchise.

It is for me. One of those few times that a game is decided by a single play at the end.

Related memories are the 4th down conversion from Roger to Drew on that same drive where Pearson did his famous toe job on the sidelines. Honestly it was an equally amazing play.

My favorite part of the Hail Mary was the fact that literally the network had already started their routine credits to the staff who had broadcast the game. Everyone knew this was in the books for Minnesota. This was during an era when teams did not move the length of the field to pull things out of the fire.

Some other great memories being shared here as well but I just don't think you can match the positive impact of the Hail Mary.

notice I specified positive impact because the two QB sneak in GBay & Meredith's 4th down sack were perhaps equally impactful, just not positive.

Unfortunately it was a game, not a play. But Emmit's game against the Giants at the end of the season, rushing for something like 187 yards on a dislocated shoulder..

David.

1. Billy Cundiff's 53-yarder against the Giants in 2003 to send the game into overtime

2. Randal Williams' onside kick return against the Eagles in 2003

3. Roy Williams' interception return of groin man in 2005

The play before the hailmary Preston Pearson up on the left side line on fourth down to keep the drive alive. That was actually a much better play.

Staubach in the corner of the end zone to Drew Pearson to cap 37-35 come back against Deadskins. Staubach was smiling when he saw the CB in bump coverage right before the snap.

Alvin Harper sideline catch in the champoinship game.

Last years favorite play: Romo rolling out anf finding Whitten against the Giants.

No love for Aikman to the Rocket with our come from behind win over the Skins?

I was there I saw it developed and stood up with TD sign before Aikman threw it. I didnt pick it becaues it was opening day and we didnt have great season.

The "hail Mary" Staubach to Pearson.

Longley to Pearson Vs Commanders

Dandy Don's bomb to Hayes in the 1966 NFC Championship Game against the Packers.

1972 - Staubach comes off the bench for rally win against the Niners.

1977 - (In Person) Dorsett, MNF against the Colts. Screen pass to the house.

1978 - Scott Laidlaw's first ever start, replacing an injured Robert Newhouse. Gained 122 yards against the Commanders. Had over 100 by the half.

1. Bob Lilly's SB sack
2. The Hail Mary
3. TD's 99 yard TD run

Off the field the biggest play is the way we played Minnesota in the Walker trade.

Man, talk about memory lane. I love it.

Here's a great play. Week 16 (out of 17) vs the eagles back in 1991. Both teams need the win to make the playoffs. K.Martin (Kmart) returns a punt, up the gut, 85yards for a TD. Man, the vet just cleared out because it was all over for the birds. It was Reggie Whites last home game with the birds.

1. Hail Mary.....never forget it

2. Randy White sack of N.O. QB to win the game

3. Leon "dumb nut" Lett against the phins

Greg Lloyd, in his prime was a pretty tough player. However when the cowboys played the superbowl Lloyd found out what bad really was.

Larry pulled to block for emmitt. Lloyd absolutely mowed over lloyd it was like a crash test dummy in a car going 100 mph.

Best part was a friend of mine I was watching the superbowl with was a long time steelers and all week leading up to the game he was saying Emmitt better "Avoid Lloyd" (as that was Lloyds slogan by fans).

:laugh2: Man alive larry just leveled him.

Do you or does anybody remember the time of the game that this play happened?

Here's a play by play of Super Bowl XXX if it helps:

I have Super Bowl XXX saved on my computer and could post the clip of that play if someone can tell me what time of the game it occured.

Awesome thread. I'll try picking some I haven't seen mentioned. I've been a 'Boys fan since '92 (age 7) so they'll be somewhat recent.

1) Woody Dantzler's kickoff return against the 49ers in '02. We lost the game, but this may have been the most spectacular kickoff return in NFL history.

2) Larry Brown's 2nd INT in Super Bowl XXX that essentially sealed it.

3) Eddie Murray's 41 yarder going through the uprights to cap off the 16-13 OT win in the Meadowlands, giving us the division and homefield advantage throughout the playoffs. The famous Emmitt "separated shoulder" game.

Woody Dantzler, Larry Brown, and Eddie Murray... not exactly Ring Of Honor guys, eh?

Woody Dantzler's kickoff return.

Best KO return ever..........

My three.....

1. Alvin Harper's 70 yard reception vs the Niners
2. Irvin's long TD vs the Steelers on Thanksgiving
3. Washington's fumble return vs Buffalo in SB 28

I am too young to remember much from the seventies. I saw my first ever football game at Texas Stadium in 1982. That was my first football memory.

Alas, I missed the Staubach years.

Brainpaint... is this the play you're referring to?
