1. Some team sees unrealized potential in Red and takes him off of our hands to make him their next HC.

Possibility: We get a real OC in place and position the offense to take it to the next level.

2. Jerry realizes he made a huge mistake and flat out cuts RW11.

Possibility: Kevin Ogletree slides even further up the depth chart and we pickup another future possibility in the mid rounds of the draft.

3. Barbie Carpenter continues to perform at the same level.

Possibility: One of our young, fast, talented LBs takes his job in TC.

If the offensive line improves, it will be eerily coincidental on how much better a coordinator Garrett becomes.

RW11 is not going anywhere before the END of the 2010 season.

Carpenter is performing well in his assigned task. I'd like to see more out of the guy, like for him to challenge one of the starting inside spots, but that isn't likely to happen.

I stopped reading right there. Had it been the first point I might know what the other 2 are. Ridiculous.

More likely:

Garrett goes elsewhere and does well, and CZ fans go ape over Jerry letting him go.

And locally, we hire a "real' OC and the offense takes a step backward.

I was actually very pleased with Garrett down the stretch. He became very dynamic in his playcalling.

We just couldn't stop the Vikings pass rush no matter what we did.

I've avoided the fan zone since we lost but im going to come to Garretts defense on this one and I wasn't on board with him until later in the year because he was just to vanilla.

I like the people defending Garrett, I mean he has never had any issues with knowing what is personel are capable of or calling plays/schemes that best suit his players.

I don't see Garrett going anywhere nor do I want to.Garrett has his faults but so does any candidate that would replace him.If anything,a more likely possibilty would be that the offense would slide if Garrett were to leave.People fail to realize that play calling is alot more involved that just calling run or pass. There is alot of information disected on the sidelines that never makes it into the public domain that dictates play calling.

Roy isn't going anywhere. You don't hand out $45 million contracts or spend three draft picks just to call it quits this early in the game.2010 will be the year that decides the fate of Roy not the 2009 season.Roy's biggest problem is inconsistency,he just needs to get back to the basics and everything should fall into place.

I wouldn't put much stock into Ogletree, there is a difference between playing every down and spot duty. That's not to say that he won't stick, but I will keep my enthusiasm tempered for the moment.

I think Carpenter might be out of here.I think Bobby has peaked as a LB in Dallas. He could be traded during the draft or could be released during TC.I think the biggest thing will be how Bobby grades out as compared to Jason Williams,Stephen Hodge(who's injured) or a draft pick for that matter.

That is my thinking and I hope that comes into fruition.

You're right. He has had his struggles.

But the guy changed down the stretch and actually became a good playcaller.

We weren't a predictable Offense.

I think Jason is developing into a really good offensive coordinator and I wouldn't have said that before the Saints game.

If he calls plays like he did down the stretch for us all season next year than we may win 12 games.

I want Garrett to stay but first i want him to go to a mirror and say the same thing i believe he told Romo..." take what the defense gives ya , and dont get cute"....
I personally think he'll make a better HC than OC one day

Blue star love you man but a couple things. You gotta stop with the daily RW threads. Anbody with two eyes knows it was a horrible trade, we'd all rather have an ascending Hakem Nicks than a mediocre at best RW. Jerry not ready to admit his mistake and move on. RW will be here next year for better or worse apparently.

Garrett though certainly not perfect does a good job as an OC, look at some of the stats, look at Romo and Austin development. He needs to stop the MBIII sweeps and way to many hitch passes but other than that he usually calls the right plays. Sunday was not his fault, Romo looked like General Custer out there, the O Line play from end to end was putrid.

I'm not a Garrett fan, but I completely agree with this. If Mike Iupati the guard slips to us in the 1st we have to take him, then in the 2nd I would prefer the best tackle/center, assuming there's not a player at another position that is ranked higher on the draft board.

I know a lot of people think we shouldn't spend a pick that high, because we have Gurode, but I've thought Gurode has been overrated for awhile. He's great physically, but mentally I'm just not sure he's got it.

I do like the potential of Free, and the coaches seem to like Brewster. The last young offensive linemen the coaches liked was Free, so let's hope the coaches are right again.

We do this, and not only will Garrett look like a genius (three years out maybe due to how long linemen take to pan out), but Romo, the runningbacks, and the receivers will even look better. This is why it's so important to control the trenches.

QFT! It's funny how when everything gels everyone's "great" or a "genius" but when a component fails everyone "sucks" or "needs to go"... the team is only as good as the sum of it's parts and even the coaches fall prey to it.

RW11 is not going anywhere before the END of the 2010 season.
I don't think JJ's quitting on him either, and hopefully he'll up his production next season. Personally, I don't care what he's making money-wise, I just want him to be a consistent cog in our offensive machine. Playing like a "#1" isn't really important but earning Romo's trust and catching the ball is...

Carpenter is performing well in his assigned task. I'd like to see more out of the guy, like for him to challenge one of the starting inside spots, but that isn't likely to happen.
Same here, but I don't think he has the physicality to play in the middle on every down. He may have found his niche this season and I don't think he'll ever blossom into any more than what he is now in Dallas. He has the look of an OLB in a 4-3 system...

I couldn't agree more.. JG has done a helluva job, our O moves the ball consistently. They're in the top 5 of most offensive catogories..
