He still had to agree and sign the checks

He also still had to hire JJ. You can't not credit either of them, although you can definitely debate the amount of credit one deserves. For all his faults and as angry as we have all been there are worse owners. Jones has had us in contentions for a long time. Maybe his biggest fault if not knowing how to get over the hump?

Because I coached for over 30 years and I know chain of command.
And you think the way Jethro handled Jimmy was best for Cowboys Football?

And what Jethro has done since is what’s best for Cowboys Football ?

Yea, but it helps if you know when it’s time to pass the baton.

WTH still believes our 80 year old GM is what’s best for Cowboys Football?

You’re right . About half of the league should be ashamed they haven’t been able to have more success than our resident Yahoo owner this era living out his dream as a GM .

But at least they have the opportunity to finally hire the right guy and get it right where we are stuck in this puddle of poopoo looking up at all of the franchises who have got it right.

Jimmy had a great team...what did he do with the Dolphins? I would have fired him if he disrespected me. That's what he did, so i agree with jethro

He may not be, but he's here. So why keep wasting time crying about it?

Jimmy Johnson was GM as per his contract when the Walker and Haley trades were made.
That doesn't matter if Jerry's gonna get all the heat for being a meddling micromanaging owner slash GM that he's gonna get all the credit if he's gonna get all the negativity so it's all or nothing no cherry picking no nitpicking Jerry was here and he approved the deals.

No, Jerry Jones was the GM...don't rewrite history. Jerry held the job and was part of selections, just as today.

Keep Jerry rah rahs out of the thread...

Discuss topic...or sit the bench. Let's just see the values involved.
You know these fans they want a cherry pick they won't give Jerry any credit but they'll give him all of the negativity.. Sounds the way they treat our quarterbacks around here anything to do well it's a team game anything they do bad it's all on them...

So , your ego is more important than what’s best for winning with Cowboys football?

We spend time calling it out cause it continues to be a hindrance and obstacle to overcome .

Why do we continue calling out issues in our society while we still love our country.

Don’t tell me that you don’t still call out issues you have with your loved ones . Part of caring and supporting is the ability to try and steer them in a better direction .

The other problem was Jerry couldn't draft. He downright sucked at it. So these ridiculous WR trades were the only route to get better and he sucked there too. The guy couldn't evaluate a roster or fix it which was the overall problem.
Sometimes we got lucky with FAs like Laurent Robinson on a 1 yr wr3 production.
Sometimes the cheapest route pays off, but rarely.

You haven’t read all of my post . Jethro gets credit for bringing in Jimmy and the moves he made to help build the 90’s . He also gets blame for much of what’s transpired since .

I’ve also said he could have been one of the greatest owners in NFL history if he’d just stuck to his brilliant hype and hoopla in revolutionary revenue streams he’s implemented if hadn’t dragged Cowboys Football down insisting on being GM as well.

But it wasn’t enough as owner winning back to back championships . He wants to be a celebrity football guy too. Screw him!!!

more so of late, so rarely is becoming 50/50 ..Kearse, hooker, kazee, hankins, TY, Fowler, peters, gilmore, and Cooks to name some recents.. seems to me the tide is turning..

If only Joey Galloway didn't get injured, he had some speed. Him and Rocket Ismail opposite of him would've been a good duo.
Aikman said Galloway was the first WR he'd ever encountered that he could not overthrow. However, the deep ball was not the strength of his passing game.

Man....I hate we never saw that. I think the only reason the move was silly was because of Galloway's age. I could get behind trading for a 25 year old Galloway for two 1st rounders. Its overtrading but still at least you get some youth in return.
