We spend time calling it out cause it continues to be a hindrance and obstacle to overcome .

Why do we continue calling out issues in our society while we still love our country.

Don’t tell me that you don’t still call out issues you have with your loved ones . Part of caring and supporting is the ability to try and steer them in a better direction .
All I know is that Garrett still sucks.

What are you talking about? He had nothing to do with the Cowboys once he left and it was his plan to force Booger's hand and get out with some coin.

He never planned on staying in Dallas beyond 5 or 6 years and accelerated that with talking to JAX. Booger saw that as disloyal.

When Wannstedt had to talk Johson into coming to the war room after Booger tried to get him to make it look like Booger was actually involved in the picks, the writing was on the wall and the relationship was already disintegrating.

The most amusing part are the points some try to make that without Booger there is no Johnson. He was high on the coaches list and we do not know if different owners hire him.

Booger does get credit for handling the business side of the turn around and another wedge in their relationship was Johnson getting credit for bringing Booger to his senses and signing Emmitt. Booger was doing his best in his fiduciary responsibilities as GM not to open the money door and also not to go round heeled in dealing with the players. I am sure he consulted Schramm about this part of running a franchise.
That has to really be an 'alert' statement:

I commented on this:

    I didn't see it....I didn't see it....I didn't see it....I didn't see it either.

Try that was my exact meaning!

Who picked him up then? That Jerry picked him up gave him an exciting opportunity he could take advantage with. But Jerry was part of that as well as functional in his own role. Now again, just which team was knocking his door down offering opportunities before Jerry? Popular but who made the offer to prove contrary?
As to running back, Tom Landry had left a combination of Herchel Walker and Tony Dorsett were the running mates that Jerry and Jimmy transitioned from.

But fact is that Jimmy had to regroup from his targeted player and then decide upon Emitt to carry his offense with. A gamblers table at draft time...lucky?

My point was instead that players left behind were Cowboys. They weren't the ownership of Jimmy Johnson. Jimmy was a good coach and worked hard, but so did Jerry. I'm really not a fan of a descriptive word similar to Waltons spelled backwards...Snotlaw.

Think that Moore will be a good Offensive Coordinator as well as Jason Garrett as Offensive Coordinator? Both were sought out by other teams to be their Head Coaches. League favor often is a changing opportunity...not just an insult to parroting.

The fact is Jethro has struggled building a championship caliber team since Jimmys team. He’s made a mess of Cowboys Football in last 3 decades.

Fans who are wanting to defend our owner over Jimmy baffles me . Why would any Cowboys fan attempt to discredit Jimmy in order to prop up Jethro ?
That is a discussion but your chosen reason of to discret Jimmy Johnson is completely off mark as to posted intent.

Are both Jerry Jones and Jimmy Johnson both in the Hall of Fame? Yes they are and for what occurred when they both came to Dallas.

Fact is they both came in at the same time and both were needed for their success. Both, not just Jimmy's rewards. That is on the level of ethical respect. Don't return again to changing words to return to one's own motivation of credits for success.

What sporting venues do that as well? Basketball, hockey, baseball, soccer?

I'm just messing around, but I think the art of being a good play caller is very important. Knowing when and where is an art.

I never let anyone disrespect me! That's how i raised. That's also why Jimmy quit on us.
When lives not favor were involved, I had to support my players...ego was far distance in application. Goes with great leadership. Jimmy allowed himself to be confronted and that stole from his own players...just saying here.

You haven’t read all of my post . Jethro gets credit for bringing in Jimmy and the moves he made to help build the 90’s . He also gets blame for much of what’s transpired since .

I’ve also said he could have been one of the greatest owners in NFL history if he’d just stuck to his brilliant hype and hoopla in revolutionary revenue streams he’s implemented if hadn’t dragged Cowboys Football down insisting on being GM as well.

But it wasn’t enough as owner winning back to back championships . He wants to be a celebrity football guy too. Screw him!!!
Naw, both are in the Hall from shared experiences...blame isn't needed.

San Francisco was still a very dominant team through all of that.

Sometimes we got lucky with FAs like Laurent Robinson on a 1 yr wr3 production.
Sometimes the cheapest route pays off, but rarely.
A petroleum engineer created the actuat program to place values into the draft teams. He followed the 'wildcatter' and was there with the two.

Jimmy had a great team...what did he do with the Dolphins? I would have fired him if he disrespected me. That's what he did, so i agree with jethro
I wouldn't have put up with brow beating a player on the jet following a win.

You’re right . About half of the league should be ashamed they haven’t been able to have more success than our resident Yahoo owner this era living out his dream as a GM .

But at least they have the opportunity to finally hire the right guy and get it right where we are stuck in this puddle of poopoo looking up at all of the franchises who have got it right.
Football is not a shame game...hold to a standard.

Roy Williams was the worst, because they made him the highest paid WR in the league at the time.

lol, and Tom Landry made the Herchel Walker trade even possible by signing him in the first place...making Jimmy's trip even possible through the trades.
All good things come to an end, unless the goodness believes it can contribute elsewhere. That is exactly the path Hall of Fame running back Tony Dorsett took in 1988.

On June 4, it was reported in newspapers across the country that the Dallas Cowboys had traded their former 1977 first-round pick to the Denver Broncos for a conditional fifth-round draft choice.

Now a draft pick might include:

Dez Bryant, Dallas's first draft pick of the 2010s, was selected in the first round of the 2010 NFL draft out of Oklahoma State. It didn’t take long for the Texas native to fit in. The team issued him No. 88, and he was expected to carry on the legacy of this historic number for the franchise.

The Cowboys were searching for a true No. 1 receiver for Tony Romo. After a promising rookie campaign was cut short due to injury, Bryant cemented himself as the top target by 2011.

Bryant’s most dominating stretch came between 2012-14. During that span, he totaled 273 receptions, 3,935 receiving yards and 41 touchdowns. The 2014 version of Dez Bryant made a case for being the best receiver in the NFL. While helping the Cowboys win the NFC East and making the playoffs, Bryant finished the 2014 season with 88 receptions, 1,320 yards receiving, and a league-leading 16 touchdowns. What made Bryant so dominant was his size, speed, and strength. His presence would draw countless double teams. He finished his Cowboys career with 531 receptions, 7,459 receiving yards, and his 73 touchdowns are a franchise record.

He was drafted by Wade Phillips - Counting head coaching jobs as well as interim stints, Phillips has served as head coach for more teams (six) than any other person in NFL history.
