I think Cox is going to be a training camp cut, only 3 rb's will be kept, and I'm not so sure Fehoko will be around.

Here ya go!

I think Turpin is released, and only 2 QB's is a mistake.

What do you think is wrong here?

Why do a few of y’all keep acting like cutting Turpin is remotely likely lol?

He signed a 3 year deal last offseason and they have an RFA tender after that. He also just went to a pro bowl, the Cowboys FO doesn’t cut pro-bowlers on cheap deals. Deuce Vaughn wasn’t brought in to take his job lol.

He’s locked in until he performs terribly or gets injured a bunch.

One of the two are not going to be a Dallas Cowboy when the 2023 regular season gets underway.
My guess is Wright; Joseph's ST play gives him a leg up as long as both show improvement in being CORNERBACKS during training camp and preseason.
However - if the rooks Eric Scott Jr., Myles Brooks, and D' Angelo Myles come in show out at The Star - then later in Oxnard - the two 2021 2nd and 3rd round picks could be on their way out.
My error - the 2nd UDFA cornerback signed is D' Angelo Mandell.

They keep 4 backs. Pollard, Vaughn, Luepke, and one of the other 3. They can do that because Luepke can do a lot of different things.

Yep, thought he was talking about Tolbert. Begs another question though, when was the last time a reigning pro bowler was cut in the mid 20’s and had nothing to do with his contract?
That’s what I’m saying. Cutting Turpin is nonsensical.

Also, just cause Vaughn is small and quick doesn’t automatically make him a returner. Turpin and his cheap 3 year deal will remain for as long as he performs adequately.

I wish WR was better. It's like they were able to convince the Texans to practically give away Cooks and thought that was more than enough.

It's not. We've seen this QB fail with better weapons than this.

Just my take:

Turpin was ranked 30th in the NFL in average kick-off return yards. That's really not very good. I was shocked he made the pro-bowl. He also made some horrible decisions. As a WR, he's a limited specialty player at best. He does have value, but a team can only keep so many specialty players on the roster. I think Dallas keeps Deuce, and let's Turpin walk. They'll use Turpin's spot for a WR that actually has developmental potential. I'm prepared to be wrong!

Looks about right if everyone is healthy. But let's see who makes it through camp

Not to change the subject , but changing the subject: that’s a collection of athletes at linebacker. They can all move

And what was he in punt returns? Just curious as KO returns dont matter squadoosh any more.

RB group is weak. I need to look at it and see what I come up with.
Not too many predictions will be far off from this one. 2 to 4 player differences. 5 tops.

Add a RB or TE, remove a player on OL or on defense. Maybe add a LB Over a DB or DL.
It's awfully weak for a team that wants to be a running team.

From reading just a few post-draft reponses here at CZ...2023 4th round pick DE Viliami has a better chance to be on the Cowboys team this fall than WR Simi -going into his third offseason OTA-MC-TC-PS .

They didn't think that was more than enough.

It's always a bit hard because we typically cut a few veterans for a day before bringing them back. Goodwin, Hankins, Ronald Jones, and a veteran kicker (if we sign one) are some of the candidates we might do that with. I highly doubt we expose Scott or Farniok to waivers though, it's more likely we do that with Malik Davis and Luepke.

I’m torn on Turpin. I feel he really made the Pro Bowl from those two returns in preseason. He had I believe two fumbles (Houston and Washington really turned the tide). I am not advocating to release him as he is definitely a game changer.

But if it’s between Vaughn and Turpin I will lean Vaughn. They could definitely open it up with Turpin on the offense as well. So it’s definitely going to be a tough one.
