It is not about hate It is about the best man win, and if Dak struggle why not replace him with someone better.
because the definition of "better" changes from fan to fan and most get pretty irate when you suggest they may not know as much as the coaches.

Mike White QB Western Kentucky

TALENT
ROUND
3

STRENGTHS

Mike might be the most complete quarterback in this draft. He has the size and solid arm talent and strength but what he brings to the position is the mental and football intelligence that most quarterbacks are still learning when coming out of college into the pros. He can play in any style of offense, under center or out of the spread. He shows good accuracy from the pocket and his leadership skills and management of the game plan is excellent. Mike can help a team right away as a back up and at some point in his career if given the chance to get on the field he could be a starting quarterback.

CONCERNS
Mike shows the ability to over think himself and miss on the plays that require the quarterback not to miss on. He is stout in the pocket but has to learn to manipulate the pocket and extend passing plays to give him a chance to reset and make throws that count at the most important times of a game.

BOTTOM LINE
Mike does not make the talent around him better…the talent around him makes him better. He is a competent quarterback and with the right coach and in the right system with good talent around him Mike can be a starting quarterback in the NFL. Mike should be given time to develop better “instincts” for his position. It just might be the answer to him becoming a quarterback similar to a Tony Romo. Mike might not have as strong an arm as Tony had but their style of playing the game and “over thinking” is similar. Tony had a problem committing to the play that was called and was always thinking right up to the snap that there is a better play to call. Mike seems to struggle committing to the play call and at other times being stubborn and too committed to the play call. Confused? Basically what I’m saying is that Mike things too much and it affects his play on the field and until he can let his talent direct the play instead of his thinking he will struggle to make plays at the most important times of a game. There is nothing wrong with Mike’s overall talent, he does have to work on his deep ball and he might struggle in the red zone fitting the ball into those tight zones but the truth is Mike’s biggest issue to overcome is “over thinking” every process on the field, on every play from the play call, to his mechanics, to what spot to throw to and remembering to look off defensive backs and on, and on, and on, and on. Now most of you are going to think, isn’t this what every quarterback does at the line of scrimmage? That’s true every quarterback goes through this type of thinking but the difference is, the good one’s do it without even knowing they do it, the quarterbacks who don’t make it… do it methodically thinking and check off each box in their heads as they go through the process. With repetition and a stable coaching staff and staying in the same offensive system for a few years, Mike could easily become a starting quarterback in the NFL that’s if he can eliminate the “over thinking” but that’s the hitch, some players never do, they never turn the page and stop over thinking.

What's there to study when you have "eye's" in your head?
Dak came exposed in his 2nd season and hate is a non-issue here for the Dak-doubters like myself.
We want a QB who can gut the 8 man in the box and win win win win!
Running Zeke to the ground all game long is a lose-lose situation and cannot save Dak from his reality of ineptness!
The Glory of the STAR above all...and ya including Dak....
Well said SIR :bow::bow::bow::bow::bow::bow:

Its the end of the 5th round, backups with potential for more are what’s left. The next 2 picks after White were punters.

People forget that Dak Prescott was a 4th round compensatory pick (135th overall). If a 4th round compensatory pick can become an NFL starter why can't a 5th round pick? Dak gets this year (he's earned it) but if he falters the Cowboys have a couple of guys now who can challenge for the job going forward. NO doubt this guy has a bigtime NFL arm so he's gonna get this year from the Cowboys to work on the rest of his game. Wouldn't suprise me to see him challenge Rush for the backup job, at any rate expect the Cowboys to carry 3 QB's this year on the roster

Just what I was thinking, White could be the futrue QB of the Cowboys!!!
No projecting in that comment. Great plan to replace a 4th round pick with a 5th round pick. So I'll do some projecting of my own. Why are so many folks selling Dak short of his destiny of being the Cowboys future and all-time great?

NOt sellng anyone short, Dallas could have 2 good QB's and could choose not pay one 25 million a year when contact is up, team 1st !!! Also let the best man win the job for the longterm !! Why are you worried that Dak can't beat him out for QB in the longterm ??

Kiper said (for what it's worth) that he thought White could have gone as early as late second round, and the Cowboys said they had him rated much higher than he was drafted as well. Obviously there are questions with him, as really there are with any draft pick, much less one drafted at the point White was, but the arm is there, and he is said to be a smart kid and a hard worker.

Saw Dak on the NFL Network during the draft, he is a very impressive young man. Very well spoken and able to handle himself well with the others on the draft table. He's a great representative of the Dallas Cowboys and himself, I just hope that he can get back to his rookie year performance.

Yep he's got the Hollywood package for sure but our problems start when his QB package fails.............

EVERYONE had a down year. The QB and HC always take the most blame, especially a fourth rounder during the proverbial "sophomore slump" year.
Actually Dez took the most blame but carry on....

I fully support Dak yet I also support drafting of QB's seems when other teams who have great QB draft one it is because they are shrewd . I hope White shows himself as a capable QB be it for the Cowboys or a trade later on. GB has done this so has the Pats.

This is the way most rational thinking Cowboys fans feel. We all know 2 capable quarterbacks are better than one because injuries are a major part of the game. But to wish our young 3rd year quarterback a demise just so an unknown can be inserted wreaks of an agenda. Just sayin......

You would think, but you have those who now resent Dak because Romo situation. I think a good situation is one where you have competition, I have faith enough in Dak to believe he can handle other QB who may push him to be better.
