If this kid was 4 inches taller he would have been a first round pick
Along with another 30 pounds. Just don’t see how anyone his size is going to survive in the NFL carrying a football.

His lack of height can be an advantage. Run him behind lineman between 6'4 and 6'6 and by the time defenders see him he's already at the second level.

No, he's not going to see the volume of work he did at K-State but getting an explosive offensive gadget guy with the 212th pick is certainly exciting.

4/22/23: Vaughn is a superb football player who can be a dominant runner. He is quick, strong for his size, has excellent instincts, and is super elusive. Vaughn shows phenomenal moves to juke and dodge tacklers, making them look bad when they try to take him down. Vaughn is the son of Chris Vaughn, a long-time scout with the Cowboys who also coached at Arkansas, Ole Miss, Memphis and Texas.
If Deuce Vaughn were three or four inches taller, he would be an early-round pick, but at 5-foot-5, some NFL team sources think he will slip to the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft. Some scouts say Vaughn is similar to another Kansas State legend, Darren Sproles.
In 2022, Vaughn averaged 5.3 yards per carry for 1,558 yards and nine touchdowns. He also had 42 receptions for 378 yards and three touchdowns. In 2021, Vaughn averaged 6.0 yards per carry for 1,404 yards and 18 touchdowns. He also caught 49 yards for 468 yards and four touchdowns.
He benched 225 17 times which is phenomenal for a guy who weights 179 lbs. Strength isn't the issue, but it would be good to see if he could add some pounds without losing his quickness. There are a lot of 210-220 lb LBs in college but in the NFL they are all over 230. Duece will need a little more juice in the NFL.

But if you have a 3rd and 1 who gets it ?
Hey, I wouldn't mind seeing what Deuce can do on a pitchout to the side, and then the inevitable juke-out to get the 1st down, and MORE! Let's see that in the preseason a few times, could be fun!

Speed and quickness in the backfield will be off the charts between Pollard, Daivs and Vaughn. Love it!

At his height he's going to have some trouble getting to Dak's inaccurate passes.

Darren Sproles - 5'6 4.49 40
Deuce Vaughn - 5'5 4.44 40
Not a lot of backs like Sproles he was pretty special. Plus he played at around 190 pounds. He was pretty thick.
