I think we are going after a Ridley type WR in this draft. I think Cowboys are fed up like we are about our wr situation and could go for a complete overhaul. We will see
This off season will light a fire in Dez. He'll make the pro bowl and hopefully won't play in it because we are in the SB.. in Jerry I trust!! Or maybe I just started drinking too early this morning.
A goofy statement is insinuating that Terrance Williams’s run blocking is a key factor as to why Zeke led the league in rushing. Replace Terrance Williams with a garabage run blocker like Calvin Ridley and Zeke will still lead the league in rushing. We resigned Terrance Williams for half of what was expected and still bought into a terrible contract. They want him off the field in favor of a receiver who’s actually good at receiving, even if it’s for a terrible run blocker like Calvin Ridley. If his run blocking made him so inexpendible, they wouldn’t be looking to upgrade his position. Seriously, this is laughable.Of course you aren't entertaining it because you are being willfully ignorant.
And making goofy statements.
They resigned TWill LAST YEAR. LOL. They knew him and wanted him back and paid him 5M+ a year.
And yes running games rely on WRs blocking. It's a crucial part of it. You don't run 6 versus 11.
Twill has value because of his blocking. Enough value that Brice Butler could hardly get on the field.
We'd all like to see someone win more snaps at that position who catches with their hands but Dallas knew he was a body catcher and gave him 5M.

"As far as I’m concerned, it’s just as important as having a guy go out there and make the catch — we demand it," said dynamic Arizona Cardinals receivers coach Darryl Drake, who spent 21 years as a college offensive coach before entering the NFL as the Chicago Bears receivers coach in 2004. This season is his fifth in Arizona and 14th straight in the league as a receivers coach.
His experience ranges from tutoring Hines Ward at the University of Georgia to current Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald. Both Ward (Pittsburgh Steelers 1998-2011) and Fitzgerald are two of the best-ever NFL blocking receivers.
"We know what the passing game means to the NFL today, but you still have to be able to run the football and big plays come in that when your receivers block," Drake said. "It’s a matter of attitude. It’s all ‘want to.’"
Drake reminds his receivers that their power is in their legs and not their upper body in both pass catching and run blocking. He said that a receiver can play with a broken finger but not without strong legs. That’s the base that makes for a strong run-blocking receiver.
"I coached Muhsin Muhammad in Chicago and he had the heart, the desire to become a great blocking receiver," Drake said. "Larry Fitzgerald bought into and it has solidified him as a totally complete player. We put him out there in position to block not just cornerbacks but defensive ends, linebackers, safeties. There is not a better receiver than Larry at this craft in the league."
What is laughable is making statements that have zero basis in fact and arguing against actual factual things that have happened.A goofy statement is insinuating that Terrance Williams’s run blocking is a key factor as to why Zeke led the league in rushing. The Deonte Thompson signing replaces Brice Butler, but are we witnessing a far bigger receiver turnover in the works?
Dallas' strong pursuit of Sammy Watkins, I believe, was to replace Dez Bryant, not complement him. And I think the latter still sounds likely after June 1st. Adding a receiver like Allen Hurns, combined with drafting Calvin Ridley or Christian Kirk....and I think Dez better get his bags packed. They seem to be TRYING to replace him.
Ryan Switzer and Cole Beasley are somewhat redundant. Switzer returns punts, is cheaper, and is more sturdily built. Bye, Cole?
We could conceivably see a starting receiving group next year comprised of something like Ridley, Hurns, Switzer, and Thompson. The Dez/Cole/TWill/Butler experiment could be over in its entirety.
It seems they believe their receiving corps and grown too stale, and perhaps too content.
Brodus thinks we are going LB Vander Esch I don't know much about him other than a few comparisions to Jack Lambert and Urlacker so who knows !!!I don't see us Drafting a WR in first 2 Rounds much much bigger Needs at Safety, OL and LB
I want to fix the offense in free agency and draft defense.I don't see us Drafting a WR in first 2 Rounds much much bigger Needs at Safety, OL and LB
Run blocking on a run first team IS important. But, Terrance Williams — a receiver whose only redeeming quality is run blocking — is NOT important. Why do you think ... drum roll ... they just signed two new WRs who can catch a football? We resigned him because he was cheap and familiar. He’s being replaced because he sucks at catching. Saying Zeke — who sat out the final game of the season and still won the rushing title by 318 yards — wouldn’t have led the league in rushing without Terrance Williams’s run blocking... Like I said, LAUGHABLE.What is laughable is making statements that have zero basis in fact and arguing against actual factual things that have happened.
So let's be clear.
1. You don't lead the league in rushing with poor run blocking WRs. I am quoting WR coaches and you are just talking.
2. Dallas resigned TWill based on his biggest asset being run blocking.
3. Dallas has signed 2 new WRs who both happen to.. drum roll.. be plus run blockers.
4. Idiots pretending to be football guys on the internet led you to believe we were reforming the smurfs... they were insane.

I disagree, we have a collection of WR's but still dont have one.No way we take a WR in round 1 at this point. No way

I tend to agree although it’s time to seek Wittens heir apparent if he’s not already on the roster.I don’t think the problem is with the WRs to begin with other than Dak and Dez don’t play particularly well together. Dak’s first 24 games in the league were record-setting after all. What he needs is protection.
He does work well with the fast downfield WRs though. Adding a few to the roster makes sense, since we’ve got the space right now.
As much as I doubt we will release Dez if we do I’d say it’s more because Dak can’t maximise an elite reciever. So why pay one.Really doubt there are any WR-TE that can make Dak a great QB.....till he's benched we will sacrifice a bunch of qualified players for the Dak-Dream.....
