You're making the assumption that Williams is the one who gets replaced, and you're making the assumption that we're only keeping Williams because of his contract. Otherwise, you have a point.

Hurn might actually end up being a small upgrade to Terrence. We'll see what they do. I'm not sure why they're creating a glut at the WR position right now, and I don't really get where Hurn fits in in terms of his skill set except that he's a slightly better #2 than we have already. Problem is, both of those guys are moderately expensive and it costs us to move on from Terrence this year.

Based on contract alone it would be surprising if we move on from TWill.

Dez can still be a center piece for us on offense in passing game. In the larger scheme haggling over a couple million is chump change. Not worth cutting loose our best reciever IMO.

In a couple years once we have to sign Zeke and Dak then we’ll let Dez go.

10 mill is too much. 8 mill would be the max if some team really saw him as a fit. Maybe the jets.

But as time goes by, and we get closer to the draft, his value goes down. And it goes down even more once teams draft guys.

So we would be stupid to resign him for 10. And since we really don't seem to even want him. It would be stupid for us to keep him for 8.

Now, if he would take 6.5 I'd be willing to listen. But then if you did resign him for that, do you have to worry about him pouting the next few years because he got dissed? Or what happens if Hurns simply out plays him and puts up bigger numbers? How's Dez gonna handle that?

Keeping Dez, at any price, is playing with fire.

And that’s why I doubt we’re going to release him cause if we were we could have used that savings to pursue other talents in FA which would have increased the talent on our roster more dramatically.

I see this as more of a chess game attempting to try and force Dez to think he has to take less which ultimately I think he will. We’ll see but like I said. We will see how dumb Dez is.

I think this is more jockeying over negotiating how much less he’ll take.

The highest paid players don’t have to be the best throughout their contract . They’re rewarded for their value at the time they extended their contract.

Dak will, IMO, be better of with Hurns who is a high IQ player. And Thompson because of his speed.

If we replace or greatly reduce Wittens role in passing situations, you will see a much more dynamic offense now.

All this obviously hinges on Dak individually improving.
