Remember that pass Romo was trying to throw away without getting called for intentional grounding and it hit Witten's foot, bounced up and was picked?
Like it was yesterday, also remembered Witten running down the field with his broken jaw wired up.
No easy task finding a TE like that these days.

First ballot HOFer if they don’t change the rules to get him in after this season.

Dak is a top ranked front runner and when things are going great he is fine. When pressure mounts he is no better than a Baker Mayfield. That is where the problem lies. He looks real good at times and people wonder why he can't play like that all the time and the simple answer is pressure combined with inconsistent play.
Ya.......No.

Witten was a rare bird indeed. People who watched him struggle as an older player those last few years and use that to paint the picture of the player he was simply don't get it. That dude was a hoss before Father Time got him. I am saddened every time I think of how badly the Cowboys wasted his career. That guy deserved at least a coupla rings before he hung 'em up.

Well last season the top receiving targets where Cooper, Lamb and Schultz with Wilson and Gallup sprinkled in. All those are reasonably reliable. This year there is no Cooper or Wilson, Schultz and Gallup are both gimpy and Brown has replaced Wilson. In short, the quality of targets for Dak has gone down significantly. Lesser skilled players are called lesser skilled for a reason. You can probably imagine Cooper catches at least one of those passes against the Jags.. maybe both of them. Of course if he catches the first one the second one never happens. But more accurately if Cooper is in the line up he gets the triple coverage that Lamb drew and Lamb would have been one on one and the ball probably goes to him. Very much the butterfly effect right.

We all knew that getting rid of Cooper would bite this team in the butt at various times this season. People saying Lamb is outperforming him miss the point. We could have Coop as our #2 receiver instead of Brown or a gimped up Gallup. This offense would be on a whole nother level if that was the case.
I wasn't referring to quality of receiving options vs last year, would have been the same probably.
My response was more directed at sometimes the ball bounces the wrong way, but we have seen a lot more bad luck this season, and Im not putting as much blame on the receivers, they deserve their fair share though, but certainly not all of it.
I have zero issue with Dak ever throwing the ball out of bounds to be conservative when the moment allows for such decision.
More times than not when Dak makes the errant decision is under duress, when a tuck and run, or get outside of the pocket and toss it should be in play and why he has made his fair share of bad decisions.

Witten and Novacek on the team together at the same time would have been the Big Tunas dream.
Recent history would suggest that they definitely have been the best TEs this franchise has had in decades, both franchise players at their time.

We will never change anyone’s mind. If you make any argument, it is taken and labeled as making excuses for Dak. I support Dak 100%, knowing in my mind that he is not an elite QB. Personally, I only see 3-4 elite QBs in the NFL today. I do think Dak is a very good, above average QB. He is not a QB who can win games in the playoffs with a limited WR corps, a weak defense giving up 25-30 points, and passing 40 times behind what is the 29th rated pass blocking OL this season.

He can win shootouts if you give him two WRs who can beat man coverage, a TE, and an above avg OL.
He can win typical playoff games with some weaknesses on offense and a stellar defense. As of today, we have a problem with only 1 WR who can get open, another problem with the 29th ranked OL at pass blocking, and a defense that can’t hold anyone to 20 points. Unless something drastic happens in the next three weeks to improve the offense or the defense, there will be no playoff run.

When you don’t evaluate as pro Dak / anti Dak and just as a rational football fan it’s amazing how the perspective changes.

Dak played very well overall against Jax with 1 awful pick.

And the other pick was classic serendipity for the Jags.
Blokes, take away one of those picks and we win.

The problem is, this is literally the narrative to Dak Prescott nearly every-time we lose lol

True.
That is his kryptonite, playing well and steady throughout. With the Jags he almost did it. 23-30 for 250 yards is impressive.
But at crunch time he can unravel.
Will maturity make him more consistent?
We can't wait for much longer.

Yah, maybe his arm did get hit on the first pick but I’d still put that one on him. It wasn’t his blind side so he was looking right at the pressure in his face. Just take the sack or throw it away if you can.

But yea, even including that pick his line should’ve been 270 total yards / 3 / 1 with a QBR of 107. Rock solid.

Shame it didn’t matter as the defense played one of its worst games of the season.

For the record, on tha last pick.
Look at the video. See how Dark reverts to schoolyard play? He throws off of one foot and we see the results.

No, me pleasant urchin, Dak needs an all-out effort Saturday to escape the snake that keeps biting him.

It’s these sequences (momentum) that is really getting to me. Bossmanfat gives up a TD looking into the backfield. To be honest, I was hoping after we got pinned deep that we would be able to punt it back because I felt an INT coming and right on time a pick, and now the reeling defense has to go back and play D with a short field. I don’t fully understand why the defense has been so poor. Yes, there are guys that are hurt so I do factor that in, but it just feels like when Dak got back they took a mini vacation. My expectation is what they did to the Vikings and the Colts in that last quarter. That is my expectation of the defense with a healthy Dak. My expectation is also that Dak stop with the picks. I want the same offense cooper rush was running just with a few more deep shots here or there.
Bossman will soon be cut and in the witness protection program in Utah where nobody will know him. Sort of how we don't know that assassin.

When there’s a pass rusher bearing down on you a QB is supposed to scramble and likely will have to throw off platform.

Regardless - the throw was on the money and hit Noah in the hands.

I’m not sure the point of your post here.

And it was a perfect pass between the 8 and 5. Bloke.

Apparently an attempt at trolling since all throws on the move come off one foot and Dak is one of the 2 or 3 best I've ever seen at it. If Dak stands there in the pocket and tries to make that throw the DE who Tyron was battling on the loop either clobbers him, slaps the ball out of his hands or the ball bounces off the leaping defender's chest. The movement created a throwing lane when there wasn't one.
