If we get a great RB we won't have a rotation with Marion Barber.

We will have a situation where Barber gets a few carries a game to spell the great back.

Barber is clearly the better of our two backs right now but I don't think hes something incredibly special. In fact at times I think he makes some incredibly stupid decisions.

Fighting for yardage is great, but realize when your best play isn't to waste 5 more seconds trying to get 2 yards and just go out of bounds already.
Realizing that running 5-8 yards backward into your endzone is never going to be a good play. Realize that blocking the saftey thats blitzing untouched up the middle is pretty much always going to be the right choice.

Wow. I think MANY would disagree with you and THEY would be right.

I disagree with you.

I believe we would have a rotation/

I believe it would NOT be primarly to give RB opposite Barber a rest.

I cant comment on the rest of the post.... it is ridiculous.

Barber is not only a MAJOR force on this team... he scores TD's

I'd like to see a RB system like the Patriots have. Basically, it's a 70-20-10 split. Feature back splits carries with a change up and a third down back. Maroney-Morris-Faulk (injuries have changed that however).

Tyson Thomson is done. Ever since his injury last year, he hasn't been the same. And that's unfortunate.

Julius Jones will not be wearing a Cowboys uniform next year. He may do well somewhere else, but I think he will only be servicible for another team. He has poor vision and no agility.

How many times have we seen this from JJ? Get handoff, run in a straight line to where the crease is supposed to be, and then get STOOD up at the line of scrimmage. Or worse, he's in the open field and runs straight towards the defender, usually TURNING HIS BACK to the tackler in front of him and then walk backwards a few yards. Someone needs to teach JJ to stick his head into it, fall forward and dive.

So I think next year it would be nice if MBIII got 70% of the carries and split time with a rookie mid-round draft pick next year.

Today we saw the quintessential Julius play ... sweep to the outside to attempt to get him in space, he starts running, stops because he doesn't feel the crease and them just curls up in the fetal position and falls to the ground and waits for the defender to finish him up.
Holy crap, I'm so glad I'm not the only one who remembers this play. I told my buddy online right when it happened, "Julius just lost 3 yards on a toss that he had NO BUSINESS losing 3 yards on..."

Please send him packing and upgrade the position in the offseason, Jerry. Or at least let Barber carry more of the load.

Today I was watching the NFL Network during halftime of the afternoon games, and they were showing highlights. On Marion Barber, Jim Mora exclaimed, "Not bad for a 2nd teamer!" igniting laughter from the other host. We have literally become the butt of jokes around the NFL for our refusal to let our best RB be our starter.

I know you shouldn't make decisions based on the perception of outsiders, but it has clearly gotten ludicrous that Julius still carries the ball as high a % of the time as he does. The split should not be 50-50 or even 60-40, it should be 80-20 Barber. At least try it for a game or two and see how it works out.

I've been saying this all season long. It's nice to see the best RB on the team got the majority of the carries tonight. Give MB3 20+ carries per game and you're guaranteed to be in a position to win every single contest.

It's getting harder and harder to argue any different. Not saying he needs to go, but man, I saw it at least twice tonight where he had a guy in front of him and instead of going around him, he just went right into him and that's just not his game.

For the life of me, I can't understand why they still alternate them every series. Offensive is hot and Marion is rolling? oops, time to put in Julius.

I think it's a power play from Jerruh with Barber's contract stuff coming up. I say this because there's no way Son of Bum can be dense enough to think Jones is worth a crap.

That's about it.

Notice that when we got the ball at our own 12 with 3:01 left, even though it was Julius' turn, Barber went in again.

Barber for 9, Barber for 2, Barber for 2 more, Barber for 11, game over.

I wish someone would explain to me how that makes sense. I am like you, I do not get it.

Even on the play in the 3rd where Julius ran for close to ten yards, and Dallas was called back for holding, it revealed how awful Julius is. Where he was tackled, all he had to do was break a small cut inside, and he would have been off to the races. But he got ankle tackled.

This guy is an absolute waste. They should have stuck with Barber, especially after his 70 yard drive. The offensive line was creating holes for Barber and Barber was grinding away. But they went back to Julius, and the running game looked totally out of sync.

Dallas is the type of offense that, once it gets into syn, needs to keep the motor running. As soon as Julius enters the game, that motor just flat out stops and the offense looks awkward.

Although, I'd add that when JJ is in ANd he gets plus yardage?...Almost always a penalty on the play :banghead:

I know there are true Julius fans but they have to realize that Julius just does not help this team. I hate to see one time that he runs up to the defensive player and that player goes "BOO!" and Julius falls backwards of fright... or the defense thumps the finger at himand he falls over sideways.

He is a complete waste of talent. I have tried to think positive about Julius but every game he just picks and picks away my belief in him.
