1. Dak won the game at the end but played very poorly at times. He just added fuel to the Dak polarization on this board.

2. Defense played super tough. Was it the defense rising to the occasion or Steelers’ limitations on offense. I’ll savor it either way, but Steelers look like a bottom third team.

3. Running game added some juice this week. Was it the running, blocking or both? Dowdle ran hard, I’ll give him that. Zeke needs to be put out to pasture. Dowdle is a better back and Leupke can make short yardage plays much better than Zeke. I would be churning the roster with Zeke’s spot.

4. Defense played much more soundly and with fewer errors without Parsons and Lawrence. Set the edge much better. Again, maybe that’s due to the Steeler’s lack of speed at RB.

5. Martin is an all time great, but I would be looking to trade him to a contender that’s super thin on the OL and will pay a premium for his reputation. The line probably improves without him on it.

6. The depth of this OL seems legit. And one thing you have to say about MM teams, he gets the next man up to play pretty well.

7. The two recent additions to the dl have played pretty well. Joseph made a few legit plays last night.

8. Guyton is a pretty solid player but he is a rookie and he’s making some rookie mistakes. If I were the Cowboys I might look to flip Guyton back to the right side during the offseason and ship out Steele for picks and a cap cutting measure.

9. The Tulsa OT Smith should probably be your LT.

10. The Cowboys need to add RB talent in this next draft

11. I’m pleased with the play of Overshown. He shows that the Cowboys draft pretty well when they aren’t reaching for need or pulling a Jerry in the second round.

12. I never liked the Schoonmaker pick and as time goes on I like it less and less. Ferguson is a legit tight end and better than Schultz who he replaced.

13. I would sure liked to have seen what this team could be with a healthy Bland.

14. Any word on the Kneeland injury?

No one is paying premium picks for Martin.

And the OL does not get better if you take him out of the lineup. LOL, what is it with this fanbase when a player gets older and isn't as good as he was 5 years ago they just assume he sucks and want him replaced. And by who? Bass? He's probably going to be playing LG for the time being.

Yes.... Bass is above average as a guard. I think we've stumbled onto our best lineup, actually.

The Steelers offensive line is not that great. The Cowboys took advantage of that as they should. But the Steeler Dl is really good. The Cowboys offensive line did a good job containing the middle of the Steelers defense most of the night. Dak was great getting the ball out of his hands quickly, although he did make a few bad mistakes.

I am losing faith in Guyton. We have to wonder if he is the real deal or not. I know he is a rookie and he needs to develop, but he is a first round draft pick. He has to get stronger in the offseason. I am an advocate of playing the best 5 and if it is Tyler Smith at LT and Bass at LG then so be it. Make Guyton earn his position.

I'm not crazy about the Schoonmaker pick either. There was no need to take another TE in the 2nd round, especially if they aren't going to use him. Forcing picks like that rarely works out. I expect Schoonmake to do his 4 year in Dallas then leave via free agency. He'll go somewhere where he will become a decent TE for someone. We saw the same thing with Fasano and Bennett. They had Ferguson, why use a second on Schoonmaker?

3. Dowdle did battle all game but that Goal line fumble was inexcusable , any RB should know he can’t have the ball loose to be knocked out .

Agree with most of this - some good things from the defense but the reality is that Pittsburgh's offense is pretty terrible. This is what happens when you have no vertical passing game.

The two positives to take from this game are that Dallas played a tougher brand of football - albeit stupid - and the offense was able to move the ball with consistency. That was by far the best the offense has looked this year.

The conversation around Dak is dumb. He had basically 3 bad plays, they just came at bad times - he is the entire offense right now. As always, any mistake he makes is exacerbated by the fact that there is just no talent on this offense and there is virtually 0 margin for error. The 2nd pick, for instance, is a 50/50 ball that the WR just completely misjudges. Cooks being out is addition by subtraction, but against a good football team, there just simply is not enough talent.

the eternal excuses for Dak is nauseating
ONE terrible play can lose a game and he had three bad ones

who said sucks? not worth what he's making, and becoming more and more injury prone. we've seen time and time again that's when good franchises move on.

Yep, Smith-Bass-Beebe-Martin-Steele

Steele is still a massive weak link though but we don't have many options.
