They had Ferguson, why use a second on Schoonmaker?
This may have been no so much an error on the value of Schoonmaker, but rather on the value of Ferguson, who at the time of the draft seemed like a competent backup rather than the excellent starter he's become. Sometimes good draft strategy depends not just on perceptive assessment of who you might draft, but also of who you already have.

who said sucks? not worth what he's making, and becoming more and more injury prone. we've seen time and time again that's when good franchises move on.
You can't move on. His contract makes it impossible. Second, teams move on when they have a replacement. We don't have a replacement. With Guyton hurt and struggling, Tyler Smith likely is going to be playing more LT which means Bass goes to LG. Who you putting at RG when you trade Martin?

Running Dowdle into the pile there was also inexcusable.
Well some times that is what most teams do . Of course if the OL had pushed bodies half an yard , Dowdle would not have to reach in , but I think he thought jumping over the pile and getting the ball across goal line , but wasn’t equipped to do it.

Blah blah blah. Show me a QB who never makes any mistakes lol.

People like you make it so embarrassing to be a Cowboys fan.
Why? Because he correctly pointed out that Dak wasn't all that good last night?

He wasn't.

He had a great last drive but made three really poor decisions which was a major reason why we even needed a last minute drive to win.

Yep, Smith-Bass-Beebe-Martin-Steele

Steele is still a massive weak link though but we don't have many options.
Bluntly speaking I would give Richards a shot at RT and see how he does

Because he is a knuckledragger who refuses to read and understand what is being said, let alone think. The "Dak sucks hurrr durr excuses hurr durr" is a rinse and repeat line that these people can't get away from, no matter what was said, and makes actual conversation impossible.

I didn't say Dak was great. I said he made mistakes. I also contextualized, didn't make excuses.

If you think there is a ton of talent on this team to compensate for subpar QB play, go ahead and make the argument. Happy to have an actual conversation. The problem is that a) you can't because it's not true b) you don't know how to construct a point and c) you don't believe in data. The only thing worse than people like gtb are poeple like you feign objectivity and being a conversationist, but say the exact same thing.

Honestly, I might try Guyton out there if he's healthy to get his feet under him before maybe trying him back at LT in future.

Your last paragraph kind is something I have hinted at before. You guys want people to think Dak is a great, elite QB. Well, the expectations are that great/elite QBs still have to perform even when the talent around them isn't ideal. And that's always been kind of humorous to me about the pro-Dak crowd. They blanche at the idea that people don't consider Dak a great QB but then when people hold him to the standard of other great QBs, suddenly it's all excuses for them.

Dak is what he is. He's an above average QB that is flawed and will do things that leave you impressed while constantly sprinkling in things that make you want to rip your hair out. Last night was that in a microcosm. The last drive, that throw to Lamb on the sideline early in the game............... and then he sprinkles in two bad interceptions and that fumble. It's just what Dak is at this point in his career.

Dowdle is not a short yardage goalline back.

homers are nauseating
tell me when was the last time the boys reached the NFC Championship game?
He's not a homer, he is a Cowboys fan. What a stupid question about the NFC Champ game. Do you yourself not know the answer?

That is a stupid expectation - that's the whole point. It is entirely baseless. None of them are prolific when the talent isn't there.

Look at Joe Burrow when Higgins/Chase came back. Josh Allen this year. Mahomes. Stafford. Purdy. None of them are prolific when they don't have weapons around them.

By this logic, if you're building a racecar, you would say "we have a good engine, we don't need tires." It is so stupid. If you invest in one position, you don't ask that position to compensate for others, you invest in the entire ecosystem around that position to get the most out of everything.

by your logic, the engine does not have to be as good if everything else is

I want Dak to continue with deeper throws, this will keep the defense honest and will give us a tiny chance against Detroit.

LOL literally every quarterback you mention has taken a team further than Dak ever has in nine seasons. Only one of them has been around as long as he has and none of them having a abysmal playoff record like he does.

Funny how someone who thinks they're sounding smart and mic dropping really just makes themselves look ridiculous
