Penalties come from being aggressive...we have to be aggressive with our small defense.....we need more size.
Zac was protecting his QB.....he should have checked himself, but I won't blame him...he did what any man would do.
I’m just referring to offsides, false starts, illegal motion, illegal formations and mental penalties like that. I cheered when Zack protected his QB. Totally justified and expected.

For fun, here's the McCarthy Packers.

2009: -163
2010: 180
2011: 369
2012: 212
2013: 72
2014: 112
2015: 204
2016: 155
2017: 43
2018: -145

So do we think that McCarthy just all of a sudden stopped teaching discipline?

Woody is my favorite player and he is wrong.

If the hold on Tyler Smith is a penalty, then the Bills should have been called for about a dozen holds.

The only bad penalty was the Williams one.

Of course, you want them to lose so you can point to things like this, but, ya know, you're wrong.
The 3 personal fouls were all dumb and inexcusable.

Well they had 4 so you're going to have to be more specific. The idea that any other than the roughing the kicker should have been called is stupid.
Martin should have controlled his composure better or if you are going to take that penalty then get your monies worth.

I was thinking before the game that their was no way in hell the NFL was going to allow Buffalo to be eliminated from the playoffs. That game was pretty much a must win for Buffalo to stay alive.

This is...the entirety of professional sports. It's not a Cowboys thign.
I can agree that all sports have some of these tendencies but some teams are still able to instill discipline at a much more effective rate than the Cowboys have for the last 30 years. When was the last time you seen the Cowboys really dish out discipline? Not in the Joseph involved shooting, not when and sorry I forget his name that DL drove drunk killing his best friend, not when randy failed multiple drug tests on multiple occasions. What message do you think they actually sent to Williams after running into the kicker? If the message wasn't stupid penalties get you benched then they are the problem. You can't eliminate them all but you can limit them, not every team averages 11 penalties a game.

They released Lucky Whitehead for hooking up with someone's girlfriend. Ken Hamlin for wearing the wrong pants or whatever it was.

They're no different than anyone else.

Or they shouldn't have called it because the player flopped and that chest bump happens 50 times a game.

Again. No way I hell they were going to let Buffalo lose that game. Their playoff hopes were on the line.

Martin should have protected him during the actual play.

On the Cowboys storyline podcast;

Just ripped the Cowboys for taking too many penalties and said this is going to bite us big-time in the playoffs. And if you don’t think so, you’re lost. The host just sat there and stared at him.

And he finished with “ that’s coaching”

That’s all I needed to hear you get exactly what he saying.

You can stack up all the 12 seasons you want but if you continue to lead the league and penalties, it doesn’t mean a hill of S.

Enough is enough now - it’s a disgrace.
It's less coaching than it is culture. The culture that Jerrah creates. I feel Coaches we have here could do better in an environment where they are allowed to get the respect needed to be the leaders.

It's culture not coaching.

Penalties have been an issue for a long time, it's certainly not a Mike McCarthy thing. Want a different result gotta change the culture Jerry built. Maybe Jimmy getting into the ring is a start, hiring a real GM would be the next step.
Exactly. Watching that game against the Bills and I was more upset that it’s been the same problems for 20 years. Culture is our biggest enemy. No accountability for the coaches or the players.

Accountability like you guys fetishize doesn't exist in salary cap leagues.

I've watched all 8 SB appearances and frankly, I'm not sure what to think. I remember them losing games we all thought they'd win, but I don't remember them getting manhandled like they have in 4 games this year. Maybe I have selective memory.

He didn't sad "bad penalties" it's penalties in general. And he's dead-nuts on.
Man some of these calls are wild though and there is no consistency.

2 of those calls lead to 14 points after we got the stop.
