in the NFL teams can't take baby steps. You baby step and all of a sudden your core is really ****ing old. We've been just right at the cusp for too long. Gotta change something.

agree with Cajun (for the first time in forever) - it will be Wade gone. Over and over this is Wade's MO as a HC. He just isn't a guy who can close. He did a great job with the D, but really that is about him being an awesome coordinator. We have to go in another direction.

Wade's defense ALWAYS collapses. It ALWAYS has. /shrug.

As for the offensive issue. That was Flo going down. Plain and simple. Colombo was overmatched speed wise. He was slow to start the year and you couldn't replace him with Free who has faster feet cause Flo went down.

So, with Jared Allen (and no Flo) on one side and Colombo and his broken leg on the other. The Cowboys offensive line was overmatch and couldn't give Romo an ounce of time to make a play.

Flo's injured pretty much sealed the game.

And this is my whole quandary. I would love for Wade to stay as the DC but he just can't seem to close out the season the way championship HC's need to. I watched what I feel is a inferior Jets team beat what I would consider a superior Chargers team, in part because of the mentality of their HC.

I wished Wade would take the demotion and stay as DC but I don't think he ever would. But we need someone with a Kieth Brooking mentality as the HC.

baby steps

you guys are telling me after 44-6 you thought we'd advance to the divisional round this year?

No, I thought we'd never get creamed 44-6 in a win and in game, and then keep the coach.

I certainly didn't think we'd turn it around the next season and get blown out in the playoffs 34-3.

Will it be progress next year if we lose the NFC Champ game 42-7?

As happy as it would make me, I truly doubt it. Not gonna happen.

Is it jus me or is Jerra staring at the back of Wade's head?

The only realistic thing you could hope for that would add some attitude or backbone coaching wise is for Jerry to call Dan Reeves again. He could provide the no-nonsense demeanor that Wade lacks while acting as a soundboard for Garrett.

However, there will be no HC change. An interesting idea brought up here was the possibility of a fired Norv coming in as OC. Jerry does like him.

I would not be shocked to see Wade or Garrett axed tomorrow. It would have been different if the game was competitive. If the team had some semblance of preparedness. But it didn't.

We lost to a better prepared team. There is no forgiving that. This loss was akin to the egg we laid in the last two games last year.

We had a nice four game run at the end this year but we couldn't keep it going. I could live with the loss. What I can't deal very well with is the way we lost it.

I wouldn't be shocked either... Jerry has always made splashes when he does things...

Wouldn't surprised at all if he offered a coach like Cowher the moon tonight...

our oline sure showed me!
I couldn't believe they played that bad. Free couldn't handle Jared Allen, Bigg was getting schooled on stunts and Ray Edwards just constantly flew right past Colombo. DAMN!

To be competitive.

I honestly wouldn't have nearly the problem with losing today 21-17 or the like. If we showed we belonged in the game and had a chance through 4 quarters I would have said the team just came up short.

We didn't. We lost in the trenches. We shot ourselves in the foot with bad coaching decisions. We rolled over and left no doubt who was the the better team today.

Just like the end of the last two seasons. Tired of it, and tired of people calling it "progress"

The other thought here with regards to Cowher is that there may only be one or two guys out there that Jerry would give up some control two and he would be one of them. Parcells had that here and maybe jerry would do that.

Of course there is the obligatory thought that Jimmy could come back. :D

Not likely. Jerry doesn't have the nads.
Nonsense, they were recently given a tuck and some botox by a Highland Park plastic surgeon.
