We're not disputing if Roy has helped move the chains. Great, but he is still overpaid and we gave up too many draft picks to acquire him.
Well, I suppose a good cry could fix it.

I wonder if anyone here thinks that maybe that was all Detroit was letting him go for? Like maybe that's the LEAST that we COULD have paid for him?

I mean look at the Jay Cutler trade...two firsts?

He wanted to be a Cowboy and was due to be a free agent at the end of the season. We could have had him for much less.

It's no secret I think Roy is terrible, but if he could ever get things together and consistently be the player we've seen during his flashes of brilliance - this offense would be a def coordinators worst nightmare in terms of mismatches.

But it's impressive how well we run the ball considering none of our WRs dema any special attention. Hopefully we can start taking shots down the field because Im worried this offense will get figured out again come December. Thats what happens when you don't have any playmakers, we paid a ton and traded for Roy to be that guy. So far he has been doing his best 35 year old Keyshawn Johnson impersonation, and that's being generous.

That's it. You nailed it harder than Romo nailed Jessica.

Our offense seems a little on the predictable side. As we continue down the road to December, DCs will have already seen it once and may be prepared to shut it down yet again (pls refer to 44-6 drubbing). It sure would be nice to see Roy step up, finally start running those routes to get himself into those spots for gaining Romo's trust, and putting up solid stats along with Miles to augment our running game. You can have the best running game in the world and still fall to a solid DC if you have nothing else to throw at him.

He arrived here with plantar fasciatis. Football is a painful game. Far more painful than fans who call these players Glass will every realize.

and that's some serious heel pain. i've got heel spurs (plantar fasciatis) in BOTH heels and when it kicks in, walking is no fun at all.

as for this thread, it gets old for people to dig up the past and flog it with personal hindsight. while i wasn't a huge fan of the trade, it's done and he's a cowboy. all these 2-3 times a month threads whining about it just gets old.

I love my current job. I'll leave the OC stuff to the real mensas. Thanks for your valuable input though. ;)

I knew this would happen. With the departure of TO, the onus would be on some other player and not Garrett. Roy Williams is now the fall guy for the failure of the passing game. Miles Austin has the greatest game of his life and suddenly, Roy Williams is the one at fault.

While Dallas may be number one in yardage, we are pretty average, 18th or so in 3rd down conversions. We are also middle of the pack in red-zone TDs. The yardage numbers we are putting up are quite deceptive. Our passing game is pathetic. If we didn't have Hudson Houck, I don't think our running game would be that good. What exactly is Garrett bringing to the table, when it was his passing game that was lighting the world on fire in 2007? Our passing game has been figured out.

Garrett can't even take advantage of the running game, making defenses cheat.

It's Friday afternoon, I just got home and thought it would be interesting to see what WR's were available in the 1st, 3rd and 6th rounds of the 2009 NFL Draft, due to the picks we gave up for RW.

1st round WR's after #20:

#22: Percy Harvin
#29: Hakeem Nicks
#30: Kenny Britt

3rd round WR's after #69:

#82: Derrick Williams
#83: Brandon Tate
#84: Mike Wallace
#85: Ramses Barden
#87: Patrick Turner
#91: Deon Butler
#99: Juaquin Iglesias

6th round WR's after #192

#194: Brandon Gibson
#206: Dominique Edison

The ones in bold are the WR's I would've taken over Roy Williams. At least these bolded WR's are staying healthy and contributing to their team (even if the Titans are 0-6). I'm just going on pure potential right now. We all know what Roy is. He's never going to be a true #1 WR, he's a typical possession WR that will occasionally make tough catches in traffic and has exceptional hands. He just doesn't have the burst to get enough separation in order to get open. Nicks and Britt have great potential to develop into #1 WR's, while currently they could make serious contributions to the offense. In history, it's been proven that you DON'T need a #1 WR to win championships. Look at Santonio Holmes. He's possibly the second best #2 WR in the NFL and Steelers got their ring. I would definitely love Nicks, Britt or Wallace right now. But according to Jerry, it takes 2-3 years for a WR to contribute. :bang2:

I hope some of our contributors in this thread are watching Percy Harvin right now...

But I suppose crying about someone telling the truth will make it not so?

lol, Roy is a joke and so are those that defend his play. I think Crayton should get the starting nod, he earned it back, no?

Roy has NO heart. He just doesn't care: at all. Everything he does on that field just says: " Whatever happens, happens. I'm gettin' paid regardless" The guy is a failure.
