Point taken about the Giants game, but when it comes to the Denver game, I can't put all of that on Tony. Our WR's had CONSISTENCY issues with getting separation against the Denver D.
Where you at the game ? Because there are only two ways to tell if that's accurate or not:
1) Being at the game itself
2) Looking at the game films that coaches look at.
Otherwise, national TV coverage does NOT show receivers down field unless it's by replay or when the ball is thrown, and it so happened that the replays were showing receivers open and TR missing them that day.
My question is, why did Tony struggle? Obviously it wasn't just the WR's. The OL had a very suspect game, the WR's couldn't get open consistently even when Romo had time in the pocket.
OL, coverage, TR just simply missing them for whatever reason. It happens even to the best of them.
Roy was brought here to be that guy who can be Tony's go-to-guy in crucial situations. I have yet to see a big play where I can go, "Okay, THAT'S why Jerry traded for Roy!" I'm still waiting for that play.
No, he wasn't. Had that been the case, they would have simply kept doing with RW what they were doing with T.O., which was to plan the passing game around him.
This off-season, the coaches repeatedly said that they were going to spread the ball around in the passing game. That was welcomed news by the fans and some critics in the media who kept harping about the Cowboys being obssessed with getting the ball to T.O. last season.
With the Colts game, statistically Romo didn't have a good game, but he had a great completion percentage and made key plays on the final drive to go up 21-14 and then made a HUGE play to Fasano to keep the Colts' O off the field, then made a huge 3rd down conversion to Terry Glenn to seal the game. Those plays are often forgotten.
So you're saying even though, statistically, TR didn't have a good game, he did have a " great " game because of all the plays that you mentioned.
Yet, you don't credit Roy Williams' key catches against Carolina for first downs and his blocking which has contributed to the outstanding running offense as having " great games ".
