Exactly. Every year we hear from fans, players and see it ourselves how predictable and simple this offense is.
We need a OC who is creative and innovative. One who can develop a real offensive scheme that defenses will always be second guessing as to what we are doing. Kellen Moore was definitely not that guy.
We can all say we need to do something about Dak, and that still maybe true, but that may prove to be impossible this year and we can only fix what wr are able to fix. this is definitely one of those things that needed to be fixed.
Time to move on plain and simple.

Cowboys will not be able to hire an established OC…NFL knows this is McCartheys lame duck year…best they will do is bringing in someone like Nixon who wants the OC title and experience for his resume.
Big Mike should call the plays

Dak’s skill level is fine. It’s the skill level not matching the cap space.

Unfortunately, the qb market is stupid. I think KM leaving is a nice litany test for Dak and MM. If they flounder, it should be obvious for even Jerry. Remember, moving on from Moore is not easy for Jerry. He won't likely accept failure after such a move.

Dak needs a simplified offense. He looked overwhelmed on the reg this season. I vote for this guy….

Pretty positive we are going with a less than exciting OC who will function in more of a support roles and allow MM to call the plays.

We aren't going to get some hot name and then bench them so MM can call their plays right?

It remains to be seen if a new OC will make a difference. It likely won’t take long for some fans to start hating on whoever the new OC is. There was a big love affair for Kellen Moore early on before fans were bashing him. He was being called a genius by some. That didn’t last long. Lol

I am just wondering how long it will take Dak to get acclimated to a new system. It usually takes several games if not more to get used to a new system whether its an new OC or DC. Just my observations from past coaching changes.
not always true, they will however have to play the starters a lot more in Preseason and those scrimmages vs not at all LOL also force them to have a lot more practices 7-7 and 11-11 to go much harder to get comfortable.

they have plenty of offseason to install and teach and get in a rhythm.

not like MOORE had us rolling in TB, the opener, that plan was terrible. that was a new OL, New WR core as far as roles go and no more coop, ced or turner and Zeke starts off hot like 5.2 YPC and guess what Moore does, stop running the ball in the 2nd half. got Dak hurt with that pass happy approach.

sound familiar. yup, its one of the reasons hes gone.

yup was being heralded the NEW Jones prodigal son and would have lifetime contract and would be the next HC.. another narrative that turns out to be true.. the last 2 seasons the Jonses have done a lot of things they have not done very often and hope they continue to do even more. Jerrys post game interviews looked to show Hes going to keep doing so.

Very interesting offseason coming. fans need to have patience.

the historically bad offseason posts and all the doom and gloom were wrong.. so lets be little less dramatic going into game 1..

So we all know the Garrett / Linehan / Moore was stale. We knew it for 12 years now. Except when when the made sure to have a run game, only to abandon it too many times. It was predictable, and how many times and years have defensive players say this.

Dak and others, especially Dak, and Moore were so accustom and comfortable with it. I think they all became lazy. Just go out and go through the motion, beat your man mentality. Which was out after the 90's SB's.

Now a new OC, and a new scheme, will force the players and especially Dak, to prove they are worth their pay and to retain.
Will it spark them to be better to keep their jobs here.

In the business world there is nothing like cutbacks and layoffs, to light a fire for some to perform better, as they do not want to be next on the chopping block. Yes, pro sports is much different with guaranteed contracts. But it is still the same basic principal. No one wants to be told ...we don't need you anymore for lack of performance...
Dallas going back to a west coast offense type.

Don't know how I feel bout that yet

Oh yeah. You and your QB analysis. I had forgotten.
Yeah.. It’s actually playing out in front of you and my radical opinion is now mainstream. Learn for once instead of continuing to be ignorant would be my advice.

Jeez - I don't care who we get or what they call. Just PLEASE run some slants, crossing routes, a drag pattern every now and again and, while we're at it, how bout some misdirection? May not work with #4 but it's gotta be better than four stop curls.

A New OC Will Be Great For The Team?
So..as long as it’s a NEW OC it will be GREAT for the team.
You sure you want to go that far out on that skinny limb?
You think Moore was so bad that ANY OTHER OC WILL BE BETTER??
You might want to research Moore’s record & stats & don’t forget that he managed & called the plays for Cooper Rush when Dak was out w/thumb injury. Do you think he did a good job then?
I wouldn’t get to excited till about halfway thru this coming season. I’m not a KM disciple. I’m just saying that the offensive coordinators that are sitting on the sofa today waiting for the phone to ring probably aren’t the most elite offensive coordinators.
And these “New Young Up And Coming” Coordinators…..They’re not Up and they’re not Coming Yet….They’re just New & Young….And a complete Crapshoot.
These coordinators don’t actually go out on the field you know. It doesn’t really matter what kind of play they draw up. If ALL 11 guys don’t EXECUTE IT ….That’s not the coordinator’s fault. That’s on which ever player or players didn’t execute their assignment. AND THATS THE REAL PROBLEM WITH THE COWBOYS.
About 1/3 of the time someone doesn’t execute their assignment and it screws up the entire play.
IMO…I just don’t think we have the right group of players yet….it feels like we’re close…but we just don’t have that Chiefs locker room Or Eagles or 49ers
HOW MANY OF OUR PLAYERS WOULD BE INSTANT STARTERS FOR THE TOP 5 TEAMS IN THE NFL ??????
My List Is Pretty Damn Short
How long is yours??

Hire Nixon or Roman. Focus running the ball while Dak learns the new passing game.
