So we all know the Garrett / Linehan / Moore was stale. We knew it for 12 years now. Except when when the made sure to have a run game, only to abandon it too many times. It was predictable, and how many times and years have defensive players say this.

Dak and others, especially Dak, and Moore were so accustom and comfortable with it. I think they all became lazy. Just go out and go through the motion, beat your man mentality. Which was out after the 90's SB's.

Now a new OC, and a new scheme, will force the players and especially Dak, to prove they are worth their pay and to retain.
Will it spark them to be better to keep their jobs here.

In the business world there is nothing like cutbacks and layoffs, to light a fire for some to perform better, as they do not want to be next on the chopping block. Yes, pro sports is much different with guaranteed contracts. But it is still the same basic principal. No one wants to be told ...we don't need you anymore for lack of performance...

I think that depends on how he is asked to coach. Is it his game or one designed to showcase the QB to keep him in the conversation?

This team actually had the HC admit he had no involvement in the plan or calling in that first Niner's loss. Just who was the OC reporting to?

It just seems like an act of desperation.

There was nothing wrong with Kellen Moore.

Is he Andy Reid? No.. But he is at worst average offensive coordinator.
I see your point, but Moore was trying to turn Dak into a pass first QB. Dak bought into it, even though that's not his strength. He only threw 4 ints his rookie season with a run game and as a game manager....Moore had his chance, couldn't coach him up...good move in my opinion.
The desperation is letting 7 or 8 coaches go....I think that's to much turnover

I wonder if his interviewing last year and this year and his conversation with LAC had anything to do with the bloom off the rose for young Kellen?

The problem I had and always had with Moore was going away from what worked. Also. His absolute REFUSAL to run outside the tackles. He is on record saying he sees no point in outside runs and yards are yards. Pollard had a TD on his lone target in the passing game downfield. It was for 60 yards. Never happened again.

I’m sure the truth lies somewhere in the middle….Dak was holding back Moore but Moore may have also been holding back Dak.

One was the others backup then went right to OC and if nothing else it’s just time for a new voice.

Is a new offense going to suddenly give Dak the ability to make throws he now cannot? No, but they had to try something.

But wasn't Moore's the only one that wasn't an expiring contract?

The entire organization doesn’t want Dak running. They want him sitting in the pocket passing and he is very mediocre as a pure pocket passer.

We don’t know what the mandate was.

If Moore was told to force feed Elliott I wouldn’t have been calling sweeps either.

As I said earlier and elsewhere, our problems have problems….and it all begins at the top.

I am just wondering how long it will take Dak to get acclimated to a new system. It usually takes several games if not more to get used to a new system whether its an new OC or DC. Just my observations from past coaching changes.

They didnt run outside with Pollard either though.....

Moore was absolutely not the problem. Top 5 offense every year. He will do great in San Diego...Prescott is just not that good...way too inconsistent, can't play two good games in a row. I agree we do need to run the ball more but Kellen Moore wasn't the only one drawing up plays. Moore wanted out and i don't blame him...

I dont think Moore was a big issue

But if you mean that Dallas needed a change to breath new life, well, maybe

Maybe Philbin but I think so yes.

I just realized they actually allowed Garrett to coach as a lame duck in 2019….a standard industry no-no, but Jerry has his own way.

The assumption that Dak will hit the ground running in a new system after being in the same one for 7 yrs is being overlooked and the growing pains required to learn the system is not something to look forward to.

If reports are true that playcalls will be by McCarthy, who hasn't called plays in 5 years, and is a WCO guy, then there is room for concern there as well.

Be very careful what you wish for.

BAL was the last to do that and Harbaugh won the SB.
