A realistic look at our playoff hopes

The league has had 3 wildcards for 17 years. Not one of those years have all 3 wildcards had 12 or more wins. So if we win out, I highly doubt we don't get in.

Besides that, the Eagles are looking a bit shaky. If they lose 2 more games and we win out, Dallas wins the division. Eagles might even lose 3 more.

If we win out with 11-5-1 record history would support we are most likely to get in.

I think the bigger argument is can we afford one more loss .

With all the current playoff teams ahead of us with 4 losses or less we’d need someone to lose 3 or 4 of last 5 games if we finished 10-6-1.

Well in fairness an extra game was recently added.

If the team worries about the noise they will lose focus and lose. They need to focus on each game and win out. That puts pressure on the other teams. One or more will succumb to the pressure. We already know the Eagles are already losing. So ignore the noise, have tunnel vision and just win out and let the rest take care of itself.

No reason to even look at the scoreboard at this point. Just win 1 week at a time.

An what happened to our defense with the gained resources from the trade.
LOL!

The defense was historically bad until 3 weeks ago, and we were a pathetic 3-5-1 before trading for Quinnen Williams.

Even though Jerry assured us that Kenny Clark would make us forget all about Micah!
:lmao2:

We now need to win out just to MAYBE squeak into the playoffs.

The Parsons trade was an utter disaster for this season. The hope is that it pays off in 2026 and beyond.

We could go 10-6-1, and if the Eagles lose to the Chargers, Bills, and split with Washington, we win the division.

I'm just hoping to win out because I don't see the Eagles winning more than 11 games.

BULLET!!!
DAL just has to win their next game. The rest will take care of itself. Besides, they lost enough games. I'm pretty sure they know how a loss feels. :D

We are a better team now. GB of course benefitted or they would not have made the trade. Again we're a better team for it. It seems clear to me
Better than... what?

We're 6-5-1 and still highly unlikely to make the playoffs.

Dak has mostly been terrific this year, along with the rest of the offense. Aubrey is Aubrey.

So if we paid Micah like we should have, there's no way we'd only be a half game over .500 like we are now.

I will say that it's nice to have some real DTs up front for a change.

They need to win out. Just like the 1993 team did. And then go win the superbowl.

Even at 11-5-1 WC we’d probably have to on the road to some cold weather venues like GB, Chi, Sea or Phil. And maybe win 3 on the road.

In 1993 we had home field advantage and were defending champs. Not sure a good comparison.

We can win 12 games in a row no problem.
12 playoff games in a row which makes all the difference. And yeah no problem. We need to have tunnel vision. All the games are winnable. Not one of them is against a 90's Niners team, not even close. Yeah that was a great team. But the great teams of today are not what they were then. We have had an historically great offence all year. With this current defense the whole year we are 11-2 or 12-1 right now. We have a man at quarterback who has a giant chip on his shoulders. I do believe we are going to win number 6.

I don't agree. Winning breeds winning. That team was 7-4 and floundering. They needed to win, and that got them going. These 3 games have this team believing. Now they HAVE to win every game. And a team with this good of an offense and by then a very good defense, having won 8 in a row, that will be very hard to beat. Of course you don't think, "Oh my 12 in a row"!. You just take each team one at a time. All the games are winnable.

If the Cowboys win out, their chances of getting in are > 98 percent. It’s the winning out part that’s difficult.

Taking down Detroit on Thursday is critical. We have to put them behind us in the standings.
