They should have traded him several years ago. And they darn sure never should have made the current contract.

"Rebuilding" is an idiotic concept in sports, but especially in the NFL which has been a year-to-year league for some time now. Please stop embarrassing yourself.

Amazing!!! And when is the last time the Cowboys rebuilt in a year? When is the last time anyone rebuilt in a year?

I have been Romo's biggest fan, but this would be the time to trade him. Get a few top draft picks for him and help in the rebuild. Some team would jump at having the opportunity with Romo for the next couple of years. Then we could actually draft with an open mind without the misconception that there is some small window and get the short term thinkers thinking long term like they should be. Jerry Jones being one of those short term thinkers.

Nobody "rebuilds" at all in the NFL, which is the point. There are, however, one-year turnarounds all of the time. That's what happens in a league with a revolving, weighted schedule that you only have to beat out 3 teams to make the playoffs in.

ummm... we're trying to win a super bowl here. And if you have any logic and common football knowledge you would know this Cowboy team is closer to 12-4 than it is to 4-12. And a big reason why is because Romo is an elite quarterback when healthy. Makes absolutely no sense to trade Romo. That would've been like Denver trading Peyton Manning 2 years ago.

They're not going to put a superbowl team around romo so might as well trade him.

Nobody rebuilds? That is news to me. So what did we just do to with the Oline over the last 4 years?

Yah, well that is my point exactly. That is you think we have a SB contender you are joking yourself. This team is 4-12 to 12-4 which equates to 8-8. On a dream year where everything goes perfect we may reach 12-4. But even then we are not winning a SB. Not with this defense and not with McFadden as our lead back. And the chances of Romo going all the way to the SB is slim to none.

Not rebuild? Perhaps you are not clear on what the definition of rebuild is. Your cockamamie idea to trade Romo is rebuilding. Drafting players in an attempt to improve the team is not.

You realize that we were 1 incorrect call away from going to the NFC championship against a team we already beat earlier that season in 2014? What happened in 2015 means absolutely nothing when projecting what this team will be in 2016 because our two best players were injured, plus a bunch of defenders were injured/suspended. Take Zeke and your RB problem is solved. And this 2016 defense should be better than 2014's. Sean Lee missed all of that year, we didn't have Byron Jones or Gregory, Lawrence was just a rookie. On paper (with Zeke), we should be better than the 2014 team. I don't think we'd go 12-4 or better... I think things just went our way in the regular season, but we should be poised to make a deeper playoff run.
