A smart GM would be trading Romo

That's the original CBR from our old board I knew it was him when he told a few posters they were being roasted.

Irony.. Dude shuts a board down defending Romo, now he wants to trade him before he takes us to a Super Bowl.. lol

No GM is getting anything for Romo. The back injury is just too worrisome.

In the NFL, the future is just as important as the present. But, you have to really believe that. So you can't just look to rebuild all of the time.

And a hidden value of Romo is that if we draft a QB, it would be much better to allow them to sit and learn instead of starting right away.

Appears reality has set in with CBR that Romo isn't likely to ever get us to a SB. He finally reached the end of his rope with him after all his many SB predictions blew up in his face. He went from a hater to homer to back to being a hater. lol

I have been Romo's biggest fan, but this would be the time to trade him. Get a few top draft picks for him and help in the rebuild. Some team would jump at having the opportunity with Romo for the next couple of years. Then we could actually draft with an open mind without the misconception that there is some small window and get the short term thinkers thinking long term like they should be. Jerry Jones being one of those short term thinkers.

We are gonna live and die on Romo sword.

Romo is going to live and die with Cowboys sword.

If there was a QB we were going all in in, I'd agree. As there's not, you might as well try to win in his window.

It helps to think of it like this: you're not just trading the player, you are trading his contract. At his advanced age combined with the injury history, Romo's contract almost automatically makes him prohibitive for most-if-not-all NFL franchises. Which is just as well for Dallas because they have literally NOTHING behind him to fill the void his absence would create.

Nope, it's 'Romo or bust' for the foreseeable future. And we must deal with that as fact - whether it suits us or not.

if we hadn't just gone 1-10 with him not playing last year, that might have happened
