A thought for you Jerry bashers...

No one ever said it was 100% Jimmy, all by himself.
But to act like it was something like 50-50 is preposterous too.

umm you did in this very thread, remember how Jimmy ran all football operations while Jerry just handled the business and marketing?

some of us carried forward a lesson that it was a team that won, not an individual.

some of us, apparantely, do not and keep going back to the core problem you likely didn't like at the time and still hold to it.

For having let go of it, you sure post alot about it.

I only bring it up when folks act like Jerry is the GM that produced us the 3 SB's. As if he was running the whole show in those days. For some reason, Jimmy, who was a, if not, the chief decision-maker in those days is never mentioned by the "Jerry is the greatest GM" crowd.

Your article doesnt back up what you are saying. Who made the Minnesota trade

Jimmy handled personnel and Jerry signed the checks and handled the business end of marketing the Cowboys in a way that reinvented the NFL. Jerry is responsible for making more money for the owners than they could have ever dreamed. It was a combination that worked and saved this franchise.

It was fairly obvious that Jimmy handled the personnel and drafted according to his vision of what the Cowboys should look like and put an emphasis on team speed. What about the article doesn't back up what I'm saying with the exception of Jerry's accute business sense which there's no denying?

So if I go find an article saying Jerry was responsible for making trades and some draft picks that contradicts this article, you will say what?

I go by the version that the men themselves happened, they both worked together doing these things

whatever dude.

We are good only because of Romo. Without BP, Romo would have been let go long time ago. Remember J Jones handpicked and traded for Drew Henson to be our "Tom Brady".

Funny Romo credits Payton for getting him and David lee for developing him

He might have been doing a good job...but I still wish he would stay off the da** field when ever a game is not going the way he wants. I would think that it would just make the players more nervous with him out there pacing around. I hate it when he goes out there!!

Good grief. It's his team. He can do anything he wants to (obviously).

If that is the worst thing he does, then the Cowboys have a great owner.

If there is a better, more involved, more enthusiastic owners in the NFL, I'd like to know about that owner.
No one comes close.
And jerra has three rings to prove it.

Now I have to rethink my whole opinion.

I agree with GTB here.

It is very annoying to see Jerry Jones on the sidelines when the team is losing. However, I don't think his presence on the sidelines effects the Cowboys an any negative way.

I really hate to talk about Jerry Jones not being around, but I think we will have to lose him for some fans to eventually appreciate just what type of owner he is.
