Err...this was sorta the point of the thread. IF we sign TO what does he bring to the field without comment on whether we support the signing/ support TO etc. Pretty sure BP and JJ are not reading this and factoring it into their decision. And just like when he was in Philly hating him/liking him wouldn't change one little thing about the situation.

Dead on there! That was the whole reason I started this thread. Many want him here, but most do not. None of that changes anything, so I wanted to discuss what will happen on the field if he actually ends up here.

Perhaps ..the jury is still out; Bill still has some say so ...

BP will decide if he's interested, no idea on that one, but as always with TO it will come down to the money. I sincerely doubt Dallas gets into a bidding war over TO. If he does come here it will be completely on BP's terms, or not at all.

T.O. on the field only...

First pass play from scrimmage, Bledsoe throws the ball to Keyshawn. T.O. is miffed. He was wide open. T.O. chews out Bledsoe.

Second pass play from scrimmage, T.O. gets double coverage, and Bledsoe forces the ball, interception. Keyshawn was wide open.

On the sideline, Keyshawn and T.O. don't speak to each other.

The Cowboys special teams gets it down to first and goal at the 10. Bledsoe throws the out to T.O. who promptly runs to the star to celebrate. Keyshawn knocks him off the star. George Teague appears out of nowhere and hits him again.

The stands erupt in arguments played out on this board over and over again. Drunken brawls break out. A riot ensues. The new Dallas Cowboys football is here.

All well and dandy, but if our line is so bad that we need to evaluate our WRs on their ability to pass-protect (again) then this conversation is largely moot.

Its great that Keyshawn can and will do that, but all in all I'd rather be talking about our receivers abilities catching the football and get the O-line good enough that anything else doesn't matter.

And that's my point. The O-Line was horrific last year.

They were pretty good in pass protection before Flozell got hurt, but they still had to protect Petitti heavily (by using Key, Witten and Campbell for help) and they couldn't open running holes.

Even if T.O. was a model citizen, I'd still be more concerned about getting our O-Line turned around. And it's not like the O-Line are a bunch of spring chickens either.

Personally I say if one has to go it should be the smaller Glenn. Imagine the muscle we could impose on opposing defenses with TO, Key and Witten all going out for passes. Our passing game may be shorter for it, but it would be powerful and the brute strength alone would intimidate smaller secondaries to no end. Kind of like having a 30 carry a game back who brutilizes defenses all to open them up for the fouth quarter by wearing them down for the first three. Imagine a worn down secondary and then letting Julius run wild on them and them trying to catch him! Or switching around the three at the line of scrimmage, drawing mismatches constantly with linebackers. Punch Terry hard in the chin and he's going down for the count, the guy is pretty one dimensional when you come right down to it--disappears half way through the season and that's if he even makes it injury free that far. I say stick with the dependable and tough Keyshawn. I also believe his loyalty to Parcells runs much deeper then Terry's, though not knocking what those two have either, just saying take the one to war who would most die for you and I think that's Keyshawn. But I think in the end both would stay, just one would comprise himself more into the role of that #2-- or better yet, which one would accept that #2 role for what it is and still give 110%, no delusions of being a #1 anymore---that's who gets your starting spot opposite TO if he were to come to Dallas.

I understand the need to fix the Oline, but people who say Owens won't have a big effect without an improved Oline are wrong. TO is a number 1 reciever. He would demand consistant double teams and help open up the running game. If the CB is getting safety help, that is one less person to stuff the run. Keyshawn Johnson plays with alot of intensity, but he is not as talented as TO.

Which would be hard for you to know since you already said that you won't watch the Cowboys play if we sign Owens.
