That’s sad that you can’t enjoy the games. It reminds of why i rarely watch the news...gets too depressing. Or just being around negative people is very draining. They sap your energy.

I think many forget that you HAVE to read each one of these stupid threads because of the job. If i see something i don’t like, i can skip it...but you guys can’t.
I don't watch the news for exactly that reason. Here, I don't have that luxury and even the wins are depressing any more.

I am not conceding. I am just sick of even looking forward to the games. The negativity in here has driven some of my passion for the game right out of me.

...you use to post a saying called "Embrace the Hatred". I think you need to consider a mantra called "Embrace the Mediocrity".

The problems for this team may be deeply rooted, even systemic, and we should brace and even hope for serious wholesale changes.

It doesn't mean that some of the better players on the Cowboys are not good NFL players, but maybe they and the team need a change of scenery to get both parties over the top.

I'm almost convinced now that Bradie James, Terence Newman and Flozell Adams may actually have better seasons with the right team and the right scheme, but here in Dallas they are an impediment to themselves and more importantly to the team.

I'm looking at the roster with the 4-7 year players who were drafted by the Cowboys and asking myself do these players need a change of scenery?

Somewhere, somehow this team has to be much more focused and equipped to meet the challenges of the NFC East and the salary cap NFL.

Whether or not we are another team's SuperBowl does not removed the requirement of winning the games. If teams tend to bring their A++ to the Cowboys, then we have to ready to match with our A++ game.

I know we want to be attached to these guys, but the last four years hasn't really been what we as fans expect so maybe we need to let some people go.

BTW, did anyone notice how badly Ware's wrists were taped up?!

Good lord once I saw his hands as he was waving on the stretcher I was ready to say let him sit for the rest of the season.

I don't remember the disgust for Campo being anything close to the disgust for Jason Garrett and Garrett actually gets results.
You should try to USE SOME COMMON SENSE WHEN MAKING COMPARISONS. (especially before you hurl more insults)

Just-a-coach jason hasn't done ANYTHING to earn fan respect, nevermind OC position or even a contract above assistant QB-coach. Campo was a better HC than Jason an OC (assistant HC ROTFLMAO) and he had a dreadful roster, saddled with an old team and overbearing owner.

Jason/Wade lost a home playoff with 13 PROBOWLERS in the opening round (first coach/team to fail so miserably). Bang up job!

But 13+ years later (since our last playoff win) and you're frustrated about Jerry's ineptitude as GM and football operations and here we are. Blaming other fans is your scape-goat and invitation to the pity parade (sadly the only parade cowboy fans will have until jerry steps aside as GM).

:laugh2:

ps - your stream of insults to others only serves to invite more open fire. you seem to enjoy the (negative and positive) attention to great job getting it!

If it bothers you so much why don't you quit? Serious question.

'I don't remember the disgust for Campo being anything close to the disgust for Jason Garrett and Garrett actually gets results.'

That is because expectations were so much lower.

Campo was overseeing our 'cap penalty' years. Not a lot he, or the Cowboys, could do until those bills were paid.

Not the case now. Fans expected a lot more, certainly this year, after the 'new' attitude was in place.

Anyway, i cannot see how we expected a staff that oversaw the collapse we witnessed last year, show significantly different results this year.

Blah, staff, players.. i don't know.

This is becoming a fitting end to a forgettable decade. A decade where we haven't won a playoff game and saw our old and new homes closed and opened in anguish.

It's sad to think that as Cowboys fans, we could have been placed in a coma for 10 years and essentially not missed a thing.

As for the on-field product, here's my question:

We tend to fall prey to teams with their backs against the wall. You know, they're must win games for them and we walk into a buzz saw, and thus lose.

Why, though, aren't we ever the buzz saw?

Regardless of how good or bad the Cowboys are, teams get up to play them more than almost any other team. It's the whole loved and hated thing. TV coverage, and America's Team. For years I have heard guys talk about it. George Allen lived for it.

In the late 60's, throughout the 70's, early 80's and the 90's Super Bowl years teams still did get up to play the Cowboys, but they just couldn't do much about it.

Every game is almost always going to be like walking into a buzz saw. The only way the Cowboys have ever been the buzz saw is to be nearly unbeatable. We will never have an undefeated team like the Colts and Patriots and Saints because teams will get more fired up to beat the Cowboys. Teams that go against someone with a feeling of awe get run over.
True... All last week all the talk was about Dallas...SD barely got mentioned by the analysts when talking about yesterday's game. Teams always have a l'il extra motivation when they're up against the Cowboys. Even this week with the Saints being undefeated I'm willing to wager all the talk will be about "Dallas & December" rather than their pursuit for perfection...

I don't think so. A made field goal and a TD instead of a great goal line stand by SD and we'd all be singing a different song.
I agree, for some reason the last 2 years we shoot ourselves in the foot in these close games with good teams.

I couldn't even read past this David. I am sorry, but my mantra has not changed and I consider this lousy advice. I hope you aren't offended. Not my intent. I won't read even one more word of that.

I don't know if I understand the comments about "this board going down hill" and "the griping is hurting my ability to enjoy the Cowboys".

The same conversations that occur on this board occur all over the country. When you get a bunch of people whether on a message board, at work, at games or where ever, that care so much about something, you will have extremes on both sides.

The negativity on this board isn't even close to what is was during the Quincy Carter/Chad Hutchinson days.

Hostile;3143584 said:
I think it is 100 times worse than in those days.
I wasn't on here back then...but I would hope that the Zone couldn't get any worse, morale-wise, than it currently is! If so, I cannot imagine what was being posted back then because the realists & I-told-u-so's are in rare form right about now!

Campo sucked beyond belief as a head coach. 10x's worse than Red as an OC.

Oh well Hos. Just watch the games for the fun of it the rest of the way. Watch them to root for Miles Austin to finish strong, for Roy to continue to improve, for Witten to continue his thing and for Romo to continue to improve. Watch them and cheer for Jenkins to get a couple more picks and all that. With no real shot at the playoffs at this point you can, like I am, just watch it for the fun of seeing what the individual players are able to accomplish as the season winds to a close and then we can all start looking forward to the draft.

I say the draft cause the HC thing is nothing to look forward to as I'm pretty sure that JG is going to wind up being the HC and I'm not at all pleased with that either.

...absolutely no offence taken from you at all. I feel particularly bad about seeing you post with this type of feeling.

I appreciate all that you have done for this board and the considerable hours you and the other mods spend to keep this place from imploding like other boards I have visited.

Also I know your contributions over the years have always been grounded in a solid understanding of the X and Os of the game along with experience in the locker room.

This is why I can take any post of yours and accept it knowing your true desire for this board and the team.

We are all disappointed, but there is always one truth at the end of the day. The sun will come up tomorrow and there will be another football game - somewhere.

Hand in there.

Oh and one other small thing. How is it that anyone on these boards can take the joy of a win away from some one? Yeah people are negative even in wins, and sometimes it's very annoying, but it's never taken the joy out of actually winning. I can't imagine how anyone on the internet, or even standing right in front of you honestly, could accomplish such a thing.

There's no fun in it any more BHF. I still have to come here and read all the disgust with this or that and the disgust people have with each other.

I appreciate it very much amigo.

Yesterday was not the end of the world, but for some reason I dreamed another meteor hit the earth and wiped out life. Odd dream.
