no excuse for him to be rehabbing away from the team. Now Red is saying they aren't sure he will show up to mandatory minicamp?

Dude sure doesn't act like he wants to play football. Pretty sure this is why every other team passed on the chance to sign him this offseason.

I would be shocked if he makes it another year.

Guess where Ray Lewis, ed Reed Rehabbed their injuries, I will give you hint there were no ravens on the building. This more common than you realize.

Fine. Put Hitchens in the middle. We lose some fear factor, but we have a very cerebral LB core with him and Lee.
What can you do with a player like that? Trust in the next man up and feel happy we got Hitch.

Between now and January 4th there will be no more than 16 days where the Cowboys are happy to have Rolondo McClain. He's a guy where "there's always something" with him which is why the team showed such little interest in signing him, and why it's fair for you to be annoyed. But the guy does show up on game days.

With the logjam at linebacker (literally knocks on wood)

He's a bonus at this point, and a damn good one when he gets on the field.

Don't fret over this, it ain't worth your time.

Let's see if the staff is upset over this before getting our undies in a bunch. If they're OK with it, it's not our problem.

I'm not a fan of McClain's, because he's mentally unreliable. But there's no doubt he's a catalytic player on the field. He's one of those Jimmy Johnson players who gets special rules as long as he can produce, as far as I'm concerned. But I don't have to like him. I worry about him putting himself above the team when he misses practices in-season consistently but plays so well on Sundays (I don't mind him missing voluntary anything, btw).

In any event, here's Nate's description of Jimmy's approach again. I always found it really interesting that he didn't even worry about being fair.

Most coaches tell you they treat every player the same -- and then they treat them differently. Not Jimmy. He told us how he treats us differently based on what we can do for the team and how we can help the Dallas Cowboys win games.

Then he put his hands above his head to show the guys at the top. These are the stars. Then he put his hands near his knee and said the guys down here are always getting cut or swapped out. Then he put his hand in the middle of his chest and said these guys are always going up or down. They never stay the same. They're either getting better or worse.

Yessiree, Jimmy didn't bother to justify his means, since with him it was the end result that justified what he did.
It might not have been fair nor right, nevertheless, it worked. I believe it's actually a big part of the reason why, in the end, he opted to find a way out. In his own words, he later declared "I actually hated the person I had to be."

I've read a lot of write-ups about how this guy will do a lot to not have to practice, so this is really not surprising. I'm sure he will show up when training camp comes because that is when he starts getting paid money (might have some minor "injuries" during camp though).

pfffft, no biggie to me....he is one in a long line of players across the league that has done things like this...
