According to Jerry--NO WR at #22.

This year the draft is filled with WR talent I'd rather solve the OLB/edge rusher problem with the 22nd pick. Spencer is the best to come out of Perdue so far and remember they produced Phillips and Adoyle before him so that's pretty good.

It's all BS.

Jerry already has a Deal with Ginn if he's still there at 22.

Smokescreen, I still say we are going to get a WR 1st rd, and Merriwether the 2cnd.

There's a difference between saying we absolutely will not take a WR at #22, and saying we are looking to do that in Round 2 or 3. It's all a fluid situation. If none of our guys are there at 22, and our BPA is a WR, then this statement doesn't mean we won't take that guy.

That's true. But I think if I were a betting man (and I am :)) I wouldn't have a WR at #22 at the top of the list.

Ginn is my pick for the annual draft day free fall.

is there really a problem? ellis seemed to do the job, and what about carpenter? ok carp was a bad example. lol.

but will spencer be better then ellis? no. will he start over ellis, probably not. so why waste another 1st on another DE turned OLB?

is spencer any better then woodley, robison, bazuin, and deossie? if he is its not by much if at all.

i still think 22 is a wr.

Jerry also strongly inferred the only impact or "Wow" WR was Calvin Johnson... for some reason Dooms I don't he'll be there at #22... but maybe your draft chart is different than mine. ;)

I have said for a while I'm open to many different options that are in front of the Cowboys. I'm not going to be heart broken if we don't get a WR in the 1st rd but I also know that I saw nothing saying Dallas would not draft a WR. The only position that I think it cut and dried that we will not take with the 1st overall is QB other than that I saw nothing in the interview saying we would not draft a WR. Your the only one who made that statement because Jones did not.

You do realize Ellis is on the WRONG side of 30 attempting to come back from an injury like a torn achilles that's ended countless careers. Spencer is better than all those guys you've mentioned. I look at the time he spent in the opposition's backfield either sacking the QB or tossing the RB for a loss!

It appears that other positions interest the Cowboys at #22 much more so than WR.

.....owning a 24th ranked Pass Defense will do that.

Yeah, but if you gained that from a press conference where anyone can watch, why do you think it's not smoke?

obviously thats just ur opinion. nothing about what u said is fact. except ellis is coming back from an injury. and spencer isnt much better then any of the guys i mentioned. if he is at all.

i remember parcells talking about players like spencer. saying he chose not to take them because he rather would pick a guy who has done it for yrs, not a single yr.

I could turn this around to read the same way from the presser.

Jerry said he wanted a WOW player in the first round. He also stated however that he doesn't think a CB can come in and be Top 2 CB, maybe not even a Nickel guy. A 4th CB in the 1st round doesn't sound like a WOW player to me.

For what it's worth, I got the exact same information out of Jones' quote.

He said there was one 'Wow' guy - and anyone can tell that guy is Johnson.

He went on to say that the position can be addressed in rounds 2 or 3. He's also made it a point to talk about the potential at WR that the Cowboys currently have.

Add it up and it looks like the 'shiny object' crowd may be in for a disappointing first round.

You give Aaron Glenn way too much credit.

That's why if we stay at #22 the pick will end up being Spencer because Ellis isn't certain to come back and Carp doesn't have the explosive pass rush potential.
