Spiller would be a decent consolation prize but I don't see him as a bruiser, which our team needs.

I think Ryan Williams can handle that role.

My list is:

Peterson
Spiller
Gurley at #27 (if he's there)

Time to sign RoMac, for no other reason than to give Murray a fitting welcome home to Dallas later in the season.

Spiller interests me.

He takes a lot of grief, but who did he have blocking for him in Buffalo? Any time that team actually gets a good offensive lineman, they let him leave.

I'm intrigued to know what he might do with his ability and this caliber of offensive line.

I contemplated mentioning him. I like him as a potential fit for us, too, but the idea that he reportedly turned down $4M in Buffalo to test FA. I like him, but not at $4M+. I do think he'd love to be here, though.

I also just happen to like the way Williams runs, too, though. Give me him and David Johnson in the 3rd or 4th, and I'm ok with that. Though, I'm not one to put a ton of value on the RB position right now, anyway.

I was a huge Murray fan, but a bigger Cowboys fan so I'll hold judgement until I see how it pans out. Right now, I think it was a mistake to let a bruiser back go, but Jerry has surprised me before. I know we're going bargain hunting, but New England broke the bank for a corner, just to get a SB. This is not the year to go bargain hunting when you have a QB who could be washed up at any moment. If you think Romo could be a difference maker over the next 5 to 6 years, then fine, I'm good with it. But if you think we are on the verge right now, we need to get a star or two in here, otherwise we'll be the same team while other teams are getting better.

And drafting a RB is meaningless when we have a terrible defense. All resources should go towards the defense. I'd rather go with the runners we have on the team than go for one in the draft. You're not winning without a good defense, end of story.

Very well said. I'll take the wait and see approach as far as this offseason goes as there is a lot of it left but as of right now I'm confused as to what the FO's plan is.

Desperate and butt hurt because he didn't get "respect".
I think it's more like, what he's done deserved to be paid like the top guys, same thing you would do. We all know that runners have the shortest lifespan in football. So if you don't go for top dollar when you have a chance, you've beaten up your body for nothing. He did or is doing what he has to do, we're doing what we have to do. No harm no foul. It's truly business.

I like Gurley too. Much more than Gordon.

I actually don't want Gordon. He would cost you the same first rounder and I just don't think he's special, but a product of the system. No to him from me.

But if i were working in the FO i would not pick a RB in the first round.

Anyways ... IDK i think i would be disappointed if we drafted one of the two backs in round 1.
I speculate we get a RB in the third or fourth and let our (then 4) backs play the starter out. If they dont trust them 4 we might be signing a veteran. But not before OTAs.

I think Gurley is worth pick #27 if our need for DE is filled (with Greg Hardy), otherwise, you're almost forced to draft a DE there and hope for the best (that hasn't worked well for us in the past).

I think Gurley is a special back with a combination of size, speed, strength and tremendous vision. Otherwise, the rest don't excite me too much. I would prefer Spiller to any of them.

If Murray did recruit himself as it being reported, and he signs with them, this will not end well for Murray in Dallas. He will get the Bar-B-Que treatment.

I'll bring the lump, you bring the sauce.

It's not the players fault that the inept front office (in the past presumably) didn't know what they were doing and fell into financial ruins, and now having to cut all their best players to get under the cap, that's on our front office. They are doing what every player does. Romo didn't take a discount, nor should he have. All players must look out for themselves because they are basically being pimped out by billionaires.

We must've really ticked him off. To go to the arch rival and sell yourself as a FA,... that's telling if you ask me.

its called he has one chance to get paid and he doesn't want to play for Oak. Philly has cap space so he marketed himself. I don't understand all the jealousy. If anything philly now assumes all risk of an injury and most likely declining RB.

So we are refusing to meet the demands of Dez and DeMarco. I get why...but those two guys carry a lot of sway in the locker room. Wonder how the rest of team reacts to this. Anyway, players are avoiding staying in Dallas like Eagles fans avoid soap.

Ryan Williams can handle the bruiser role?
The guy who hasn't been able to stay on the field in Arizona?
What have you seen that makes you confident can do this?

I remember hearing the same things about Murray before last season.
