I can't believe how many people think that AP is a viable option. We signed our insurance in Ryan Williams in case Murray left and this is the one of the deepest drafts at RB in a while. We've been talking about this for months. But then when Murray actually gets ready to go people freak about uncertainty and start talking about AP like this is even possible, let alone good for us in the long term.
Suck it up. We can't spend money everywhere and we have been losing because of defense, not offense, for years. I'm grateful we didn't spend big money on RB. With Romo and this O-line, if we can't get a pair of RBs to generate 1,500 yards then we have bigger problems than Murray leaving.
Waiting to see the numbers on Murray, because I think that deal will basically blow any potential deal for AD out of the water for me. Ie, Murray's going to get more than I'd be willing to pay for AD, so it makes anything but drafting a RB a non-starter. That said, AD's obviously on another team's roster right now, so until that changes, it's a moot point. But there's also no reason not to acknowledge that there are real problems with that relationship and that that contract right now is way too high for this league. The odds are still fairly high that Adrian Peterson is wearning another helmet next year.
I don't know about everybody else, but there's not another back out there right now that interests me any more than Ryan WIlliams does. Until we get to the draft, at least.
