I'm actually excited. Sign there DeMarco. I'm now ready to see where our $8-9 million in space goes...AP, Spiller, Hardy, mid-levels?

Keep dreaming. Why would those guys come to Dallas?

AP isn't a free agent.
Spiller is more injury prone than Murray
Hardy would use that whole 8-9 mil and will probably be suspended.

Again. Could not be happier Murray is getting his big payday. He laid it on the line for us last year. One of the more fun seasons in a decade.

I hope he's a tremendous success every week of the season but two.

Also this is going to be fun for a few years.

What was Matthews deal to be reported as? Looks like the Cowboys offer was 6M.

any player who accounts for 40% of you offense is more than a cog.

Kansas City probably thought the same thing about Priest Holmes. Denver fans probably thought Shanahan was crazy for trading a 23 year old star in Clinton Portis. Running games are a system not about the players. Unless you have Peterson or Barry Sanders that can make plays from nothing.

This is a win/win for all parties. DeMarco is a injury guy that had a record year. This is his last contract before 30 and he is getting the money. Cowboys had plan and stuck with it and now can use it elsewhere. I am fine with both!

Agreed.

Murray was injured and missed big chunks of his first three seasons.
This last season he stayed relatively healthy and had a monster year.

I think it's unlikely that the one year he was healthy represents who Murray is as a player moreso than the three years he was injured.

Then factor in the workload he had last season...

It's so odd that most of you suddenly thing Demarco sucks now. If he does end up resigning with you guys today, then what? Does he still suck or is the best RB in the league again?

I ask honestly.

I think there will be a lot of backtracking here. I'm all for us getting a running back who can carry the load, whether that's Murray returning for a competitive price or acquiring Peterson or, last resort, spending our valuable first-round pick on a replacement.

I'm not sold on the other options out there, but I would take a wait-and-see approach if we ended up with a player like Spiller.

What's it going to be then, eh?

I guess free agency has to be completely over before people understand that there is not some tsunami of cheap talent coming in to save the offseason.

I do not think they really care about their image.

Apparently not.

Murray is a better signing than Mathews, just from the standpoint that Mathews makes DeMarco Murray look like Jim Marshall in terms of durability.

I think there are many good options in the draft to find a replacement. David Johnson is particularly intriguing. But, they have a lot of other holes to tend to.

DeMarco is a good RB. Dallas just made a smart decision by sticking to what they felt was a fair offer and not caving. While a good RB, his production is replaceable behind this OL.

I wouldn't count on that happening today. I don't think we sign anyone until at least Saturday, unless it's the FB they brought in last night.

Once Murray signs. They will get the deal done with RoMac. I was surprised it didn't happen yesterday.
