Confess a time when you were very wrong about a coach, player, situation, etc. A time when you were so completely wrong, that you still have a hard time fessing up.
We've all had those pet cats that have fallen through. Hell, we were all wrong during the Q-Bong/Hutch/Henson era.
But lets take this as an opportunity to air out our mistakes.
Mine was very recent, I was in tireless support of Terrell Owens. I felt that even at 35, he was still a dominant force in the game. I always barked out that he demanded double teams, and wasn't being used properly. But then it hit me one day, when I noticed how visibly frustrated high character guys like Romo, Witten, and Newman were at the very mention of his name. He really was becoming more important than the team. Blame Garrett, blame Romo, but it has happened everywhere else he had gone.
I was wrong, good riddance T-Faux. You had mediocre hands, alligators arms, and was a below average route runner. With the amount of deep patterns, and times we forced you the ball your stat lines were always inflated like Allen Iverson dropping 32 after going 8 for 36 from the field.
Your physical gifts compensated for your lack of polished receiving skills. As well as his refusal to work on them in the offseason. Statistically the 2nd best WR of all time, you were like every WR that was every worth a damn - you wanted the football. But you didn't understand how much better you made our team when the ball wasn't in your hands.
You had the best mentor in football, and you learned absolutely nothing. Except to work out really hard and be aesthetically pleasing. You're the most insecure and naive 35 year old I've ever seen. You only 'won' us a handful of games and you tended to disappear when the game was on the line. I don't like Roy Williams but at least he won't completely distract our ball club.
I admit it, I was wrong about Terrell Owens. Your turn.
