Confess a time when you were very wrong about a coach, player, situation, etc. A time when you were so completely wrong, that you still have a hard time fessing up.

We've all had those pet cats that have fallen through. Hell, we were all wrong during the Q-Bong/Hutch/Henson era.

But lets take this as an opportunity to air out our mistakes.

Mine was very recent, I was in tireless support of Terrell Owens. I felt that even at 35, he was still a dominant force in the game. I always barked out that he demanded double teams, and wasn't being used properly. But then it hit me one day, when I noticed how visibly frustrated high character guys like Romo, Witten, and Newman were at the very mention of his name. He really was becoming more important than the team. Blame Garrett, blame Romo, but it has happened everywhere else he had gone.

I was wrong, good riddance T-Faux. You had mediocre hands, alligators arms, and was a below average route runner. With the amount of deep patterns, and times we forced you the ball your stat lines were always inflated like Allen Iverson dropping 32 after going 8 for 36 from the field.

Your physical gifts compensated for your lack of polished receiving skills. As well as his refusal to work on them in the offseason. Statistically the 2nd best WR of all time, you were like every WR that was every worth a damn - you wanted the football. But you didn't understand how much better you made our team when the ball wasn't in your hands.

You had the best mentor in football, and you learned absolutely nothing. Except to work out really hard and be aesthetically pleasing. You're the most insecure and naive 35 year old I've ever seen. You only 'won' us a handful of games and you tended to disappear when the game was on the line. I don't like Roy Williams but at least he won't completely distract our ball club.

I admit it, I was wrong about Terrell Owens. Your turn.

:laugh1: Speak for yourself....no way on that one though. I was dead against all three of those fiascos.

But I'll be back with some times I did have to eat humble pie.

I thought Jerry's move to trade a third-round pick to acquire Drew Henson was brilliant.

When I watched that Thanksgiving Day game vs. the Bears and saw Henson and Julius Jones in the backfield together, I thought they were the future of the Cowboys.

I loved the 1987 draft with Danny Noonan and Ron Francis when it happened.

Looking back, when I was a young fan in the 1970s and 1980s, I thought everybody they drafted was going to be great.

The older I am, the more skeptical I am ... more critical and cautious.

Oh boy. This is going to sting a bit.

I thought Drew Henson was a star in the making.

I thought Mike Williams was the best WR since Randy Moss.

I thought Antaaj Hawthorne would be a dominant NFL DT.

I thought Brandon Everage was our answer for having lost Darren Woodson.

I thought Jamar Martin was a steal.

I thought Duke Robinson was the best O-lineman in the 2009 Draft.

Not to worry...I was a big fan of T.O. until last year. So, he fooled you, me, and alot of other people.

I was wrong...

I was wrong about Julius Jones. I thought he'd have an LT-type career for us. I still think Parcells ruined him, though.

I also had strong hope Rob Pettiti would win the RT job after that year he started for us. Thank God I was wrong about that.

Like Chief up there, I thought the Henson/Julius backfield was our future.

Being a big time Michigan fan I have no qualms admitting I was dead wrong on drew Henson. I honestly thought he was going to turn us around. Outside of Henson I don't recall being super high on anyone in particular. I didn't post very much during those years but was an avid visitor to the site as I am today, so many people here won't know about how good I thought Henson would be. I don't have any issues admitting being wrong. Let's hope my quarterback evaluation abilities aren't totally shot because I am higher on Romo than any other player.

Tyson Thompson, I really saw something in that kid, and now he isn't even in the league.

I really saw something there too, it's a shame.

I was wrong about Romo, I thought he would be nothing more than a backup I think he has shown himself to be a very good starting QB

Wow HoS you were really hitting the pipe on that one.

I thought Felix would be a bust.

Same with Marty B.

Hmm this threads needs more chris johnson haters.

Not to pat myself on the back, but I somehow knew, just knew, that Henson would be a total bust as a QB. Playing baseball for a few years and not being able to handle that made me sour on him right away. Never had an ounce of faith in that guy.

Same wit QC and Hutch face...

And, like another poster said, I was totally wrong about Julias Jones...I thought he was going to be special...and, I also agree that maybe Parcells ruined his style of running.

Me too. I'd hate to see those old threads. Imagine the rue had we taken him instead of Ware. Glad the Lions of all people would take another wideout.

Man your list is nothing compared to mine but I will add a disclaimer that I was overseas from '88 to '91 so I didn't get to see much college football.

I thought Jimmy Johnson was a bad hire. Up to that point college coaches didn't have a lot of success in the NFL.

I thought Emmitt was a bad pick. Florida lost to then Memphis St. that year so how good could he be.:

I'm happy to admit I was dead wrong in so many ways. :laugh1:

I've noted before that I thought Gurode was crap and that Johnson was the better center.

Antonio Bryant..for us at least...and Derek Ross

You took the words right out of my mouth. I was elated when we drafted Bryant; what a steal!! Yeah, right. And I was convinced that Derek Ross was a genuine playmaker and that it was our stupid coaches that ruined him. Come to think of it I thought the same thing about Julius Jones until Parcells left and Julius didn't improve.

I wish I could say it felt good to confess all that...
