Admit It...

Skyler Green.....

He was sorta my "pet cat" going into that draft, and then we drafted him and I was pumped... and you know the rest.

Jacob Rogers

I thought he had a lot of talent.... never realized he was such a pansy.

Me too...I was rooting for him.

:star:

I'll echo what other people have said about Julius and Felix. I thought the former would be great and the latter was a wasted pick. I also thought that Eli Manning wouldn't last as a starter in this league.

My worst one ever was in basketball. I told anyone who would listen that Darko Milicic would be a better player than Lebron.

I thought Julius Jones would be the next great Cowboys RB :bang2:

Completely wrong about Drew Henson. Yeah I was 100% sold on that kid. I was wrong about Pacman Jones, Al Johnson, but I've been right more than Ive been wrong. I was wrong about Mike Williams pretty bad though. I would have traded a whole draft for that guy.

Was dead right about Anthony Fasano (knew we didnt need a 2nd round te), Bobby Carpenter (I wanted Wimbley or Lawson). Marco Rivera (we could have signed Matt Wahle for the same money) Skyler Green.

And the biggest thing I was right about... Stephen Jackson.... I hated us taking Julius Jones when we had a chance at Jackson.

I was also right about Antonio Bryant, that guy has turned into a beast. Fact is he wasn't given the proper opportunity here, and that was Parcells fault. Trading him for Quincy Morgan was crazy.

Giving up Joey Galloway wasn't too bright either. Again Parcells fault.

In between. I was big on us drafting Kevin Burnett. Don't think I was right or wrong about it though. You can look at it both ways.

I was wrong about Shante Carver......WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAy wrong.

Tyson Thompson, I really saw something in that kid, and now he isn't even in the league.

I really saw something there too, it's a shame.

Same here. He could have at least been a great kick returner for someone. What the hell happened? He was a good kid.

I thought that the Sonny Gibbs pick in '62 (QB, Texas Christian) was going to take us to the next level. I was wrong.

The Billie Van Burkleo pick (1964, RB, Tulsa) didn't work out either, and I LOVED that pick.

I was dead wrong about the Larry Cole pick in '68 (16th round, DE, Hawaii) as well. Stupid me huh? Who would've known............

We took Tody Smith out of USC with the first pick in '71 (DE) and I thought that was brilliant...............how wrong I was.

I thought the Carl Lewis (yes, THAT Carl Lewis) pick in '84 (12th, WR, Houston) was a lock. I had visions of "Bob Hayes" in my head.

Other picks I was wrong about were Neal Dellocono (UCLA, LB, 11th, '85), Dale Jones (TN, LB, 10th, '87), Rhondy Weston (FL, DE, 3rd, '89), Nate Kirtmon (Pomona-Pitzer, DB, 9th, '92) and Kenny Wheaton (OR, RB, 3rd, '97).

Yeah, I'm a real genius and usually get the draft DEAD-ON right. But I admit I blew it on these picks...............:rolleyes::rolleyes:.

I was wrong about the Tuna. I used to eat up everything he said.

Always thought we were screwed once he left, that these guys always needed to be rode hard.

He simulataneously put our franchise in the right direction while making some really 'stubborn' moves on and off the field. He gave us some great players but I think we missed on some opportunities because of his 'philosophy'. He wasn't really that good of a chef, even when he got to shop for the groceries.

I thought Jerry's move to trade a third-round pick to acquire Drew Henson was brilliant.
Unfortunately, I'm in the same boat.

However, FWIT, I never liked the QC pick. :D

Holy crap... THAT takes balls to admit. We have a winner, folks.

Cowboys - After watching Marcus Spears play a little at LSU, I thought he be would a star.

Two players I wanted the Cowboys to draft because I thought were studs, were QB Joey Harrington and RB Kevin Jones

I never thought Steve Young would ammount to anything. Guess I was wrong.:laugh1:

Erhm... This thread wasn't about us saying what we were right about.

I thought 2002 was going to be one of the best Cowboy drafts ever.

I thought Julius Jones was going to be the new Tony Dorsett.

I thought Bobby Carpenter would out play AJ Hawk professionally.

I thought Tim Couch and Cade McNown would be good pros.

I thought Peter Warrick would be stellar.

I thought Andre Wadsworth would be the next Charles Haley.

I thought Kavika Pittman had potential.

I thought Ricky Williams would become a an all-time great.

I thought George Seifert was a good coach and wanted Dallas to hire him instead of Chan Gailey, glad they didn't.

I thought the Commanders would win the Super Bowl in 1999 LOL.

As an LSU fan, I really thought that David LaFleur and Skyler Green were can't miss selections. I mean, multiple seasons, all-pro, would one day land in the Ring of Honor for sure, can't miss draft picks.

oy!

I was wrong about Moose Johnston, I wanted Agee.

I used to tell my buddies Steve Walsh was a QB and Troy Aikman was a thrower... They still rag me about that.

Every Boston College QB between Flutie n Matt Ryan I wanted the boys to draft. Wow!

I was wrong about Kyle "gettin owned on U tube" Kosier, he can play.

the entire 2000 draft... Marcus Steele of the draft!

I remember the Jujo and Henson game... Afterwards I was telling everyone Jones would hit a 1000 that season.

D Ware... Noway did I think he could be this dominate! If he had long flowing hair or a stupid sack dance He be known as the best defender in the league!

Quite a few players.
Quincy comes to mind first. I think a lot had to do with it was such an unpopular, head scratching pick, and yes even myself at the time. Everyone hated it. But I took the approach, they picked him, so let's wait and see. Then he had a few decent games. Showed he could do something if given the time and support. But also, he wasn't going to take over a game all by himself. and the wheels fell off.

It's not that they were right, just that I wasn't right. :laugh1:
