Well, it has been posted here a number of times but I guess your reading skills are as poor as your grammar and spelling, so I will post it again. Just for you!

Hey I will be having a party when the Cowboys win the Super Bowl this year and you can be in your grammar review class.

Getting extra picks and grabbing a couple players like Bennett, Xavier Cooper or Frank Clark will help us get to the Super Bowl. Much better than spending a high pick on a 30 year old RB and leaving our defense with holes. Sorry. You are wrong.

I am just thankful that Stephen Jones agrees with me and not with you guys. Otherwise, we would still be in the same position as we have been in the last 20 years.

Well, does he agree with you, or do you agree with him?

And, it doesnt mean its the correct call or decision. We have the entire year to evaluate that.

You can insult my English, reading, ect, and it doesn't matter I just care about the Cowboys winning the Super Bowl, I don't care what you think about anything.

It amounts to the same thing. He does not want to trade draft picks for a veteran. Doesn't matter whether he agrees with me or I agree with him. What difference does that make? We both agree on that.

And, no, you never know whether it is the correct call until its made and you see the results. For something like this, you won't know for a couple of years. You would need to see how AP runs the next couple years and how the draft choices that Dallas makes play.

Fine but I answered your question. Stephen does not want to use draft picks to acquire a veteran. Pretty plain English.

Come on guys, quit the personal jabs.........we all want what is best for the Cowboys, no reason why we cant discuss this like men.

Now Esloan does make a good point about trading back if we have ruled out Peterson. Odds are Gurley and Gordon are both going to be gone by pick 27 and to trade up to get one of those backs is going to take probably a 2nd or 3rd rounder. We have too many defensive holes to do that, so trading back to the early 2nd round would get us an extra pick and still put us in a position to grab Coleman or one of the other 2nd tier backs.

My preference would be to trade a 2nd round pick for Peterson (I have said that since day 1), but if that is not a viable option anymore since Minny presumably wants way more than that, then I would go with Esloan's proposal of a small trade back to collect an extra pick and then take one of the second tier running backs.

(I am ranking Gurley and Gordon as 1st tier and the rest as 2nd tier, I realize not everybody may have those same rankings but yall understand my point).

Death Star is not pleased. Hold on everybody. Death Star has something to say....

You've got the floor. Come up with something a little funnier....

Oh good, I was concerned that you'd actually finally reduced your postcount, however two seperate responses to my single post challenges that notion. By all means, keep up your massive volume of contributions to this largely worthless speculative thread.

I petition the mods to rename this thread the "JoeBobby AP fanfiction thread" because we clearly need to hear more of this nonsense.

Some questions for whoever feels like enlightening me:
  1. How is this thread still open?
  2. How is this thread not in NFL Zone?
  3. When did the Cowboys express any interest, publicly or otherwise, in acquiring AD?
  4. How does acquiring AD in any way, shape, or form resemble the type of roster move that the 2015 Dallas Cowboys would make?

1. I am not sure of what the rules are, with regard to threads being closed or open.
2. I imagine they left it opened for guys like us, so there wouldn't be a thousand different threads opened up every few days in the fanzone. It was a good idea.
3. They bantered about the scenario on the webpage. Thats all I know of. The media and everybody else to include all time Cowboys greats want it to happen. It just makes too much sense. Irvin. E Smith, Novacek,,,this list goes on I am sure.
4. They have done a great job concerning personnel in the last few years imho. But that doesn't always mean you have to be cheap to make a great personnel move.

Ask Tony Romo who he would rather see behind him picking up the blitz and handing the ball off too. The answer is obvious;

I have been doing mocks on Fan Speak and I actually traded out of that first pick twice and grabbed extra picks. I read a study done by some Harvard graduates that said that the most value in the draft is, by far, the second and third rounds. The more picks you have in that area the better. I really think we can fill a lot of needs in that second and third round area if we grab extra picks. That area is stocked with quality players. Bennett, Cooper, Clark and a host of solid CBs all look to go in the second and third rounds. Give me two or three players there over AP, considering our needs on defense.

I never understand why, people just dont hit the ignore button? How hard is that?

Yet, you read, you read, and you read some more. And instead of contributing, you put every one else down, who is posting in this thread.

Why not, just go away. Dont click it man, dont click it.

I appreciate you helping to clarify those questions (not being sarcastic at all, I really wasn't sure what the mods' reasoning was for having this thread.)

Anyway, I don't disagree. I'd love for him to be on this team. But what it will require to obtain him, won't pay off for us in the long run unless he happens to be the rare exception and continues to excel at a high RB level into his mid 30's. I don't see him signing for a 2 year deal.

With all that said, if he is released and he's willing to sign a 1 or 2 year incentive-based contact, sign me up.

I think many of us were hoping for a 3 year contract.

I'm not sure if it happens. AP wants too much, Minny wants to much and Dallas aint moving.

A month ago, I was thinking they would all want to make this happen, and not be so hard in their positions.

I think you can get Coleman and still trade back. If not, there is still Yeldon, Abdullah, Duke Johnson and Jay Ajayi (if the reports about his knee are overblown). What we are really betting on is that our offensive line is as good as we think. If it is, one of the rookies and McFadden will be fine and the additions to the defense will make the team all around better. If we are wrong, and the offensive line is not as good as we think, then we may be in trouble. I am seriously thinking we are right and our o-line is the best in the NFL.

Yo, just checking in with JoeBobby's AP Fanfic Thread. Do we have any new links to some unsourced clickbait speculative nonsense from a sports "journalist"? No? Bummer, I'll check back in a few hours.

you have 355 posts since 2006, and this is what you choose to focus your attention on?

and esloan liked your post, and he has posted just as much as I have. In fact, many have posted a great deal of times in this thread. I guess they come here to discuss whats going on with their team, the Dallas Cowboys. And they would like to give their opinion and hear others. Sort of like a discussion.

Yet you point me out? You single me out? Why? Why are you stalking me?

Lol but you pining for Ajayi is good for the team...ha!

I have been quite clear on my feelings for Ajayi. If, and it is a big if, his knee is checked out as okay then I would love to have him here. If his knee is not okay, then I would much rather them pick up Coleman, Duke Johnson or Yeldon. Of course, Gurley is the best back but I would not trade up for him. I also like Gordon but I don't think he will be there and, again, I would not trade up.

I would take most of the rookie RBs over Peterson and the price he would want. Especially if we can trade back and pick up extra picks and still get a solid RB.

I posted this yesterday the three top backs will likely be gone. Detroit sent their RB coach to coleman's pro day...strong indication a team has interest...Miami herald reported yesterday the dolphins are hoping Gurley falls to them at 14...Ravens, cards, and bolts all interested in Gordon. So that leaves Ajayi who has fumbling and knee issues...no thanks...now who Yeldon, Johnson, Abdullah? Again just reporting what these teams said yesterday.
