Or they could take Coleman.

http://www.nfl.com/draft/2015/profiles/tevin-coleman?id=2552453

BOTTOM LINE
His violent running style is a joy to watch, but might have to be tempered to extend his career. He is a "race car in the red" on just about every snap and refuses to give in, which leads to many big runs. The biggest concern for teams about Coleman is the uncertainty about whether he can become a more patient runner and improve as a tackle-breaker. Has the burst and top-end speed to be a game-changing running back for a team looking for a workhorse, but questions about his "make you miss" talent could hurt his draft stock.

Why did you leave out this info below? Basically the kid can't break tackles, isn't good at catching passes, and has no patience. That is nice that he runs fast but that will only take you so far in the NFL. This kid is nothing more than a question mark. You think he is going to help lead us to the super bowl?

WEAKNESSES
Treats every carry like a sprint. Must improve run tempo and patience on stretch plays. Has to learn when to keep run play-side and improve patience to allow back-side cutback lanes to develop. Can improve as receiver out of backfield. Wasn't always in position to scan defense on screen passes, resulting in lost yardage. Pad level often a little high into contact. Not much of a tackle-breaker and allows his base to get too narrow, giving defenders a chance to end play prematurely. Less creative than most of the top-level backs in this draft. Could use more creativity once he gets to the second level.

SOURCES TELL US
"There are two kinds of back who are successful in this league - runners who break tackles and runners who can create for themselves. He's not either one." -- NFC running back coach "A little stiff for my taste, but he could do some real damage in a spread offense." -- AFC area scout

It's going to be funny when we start the season with a rookie rb who looks clueless out there and then our run game holds us back. We will be back to Tony throwing the ball all the time without teams having to fear our running game. We have a chance to be the top team in the NFC and now we will be anywhere from #3 to #5 in the NFC. At that point there will be fans that were saying no to Peterson wondering what the hell they were thinking. Man I hope the Cardinals don't get AP, that will be another team that will leap frog us in the NFC if they do.

I never understand why, people just dont hit the ignore button? How hard is that?

Yet, you read, you read, and you read some more. And instead of contributing, you put every one else down, who is posting in this thread.

Why not, just go away. Dont click it man, dont click it.

?????

Well said, thank you. We are trying to say the things that would help the Cowboys win the Super Bowl and people want to attack us, you would think they would be interested in a Super Bowl win more than taking a shot at us.

Dallas Cowboys not in running for Adrian Peterson

Cowboys are out on Adrian Peterson.
That's the latest from NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, who said as much on Sunday night'sNFL Total Access. The 30-year-old running back will play for the Vikings or no one, or at least that is the word coming from Minnesota, per Rapoport.

But he noted that if one team could tempt Rick Spielman, it would be the Cardinals. The Bucs andJaguars may be on the periphery though are not viewed as serious contenders.

A deal for Peterson would likely happen on Friday or not at all. Any return on the All-Pro would expected to yield a second-round pick and if the Cardinals do not find a running back they're in love with on Thursday night, Peterson could be the guy in Round 2.

Still, this will make for a fascinating subplot to the second day of the draft.

As we continue to obsess over the landing spots of two quarterbacks, a trade for Peterson could actually have the most immediate impact around the league. Pairing Carson Palmer, Larry Fitzgeraldand Michael Floyd with the NFL's most dominant running back would automatically make them one of the favorites to win the conference along with their division mates, the Seattle Seahawks.

Lol you want a guy who fumbles more than Murray did and a guy completely taken off most teams draft board because his knee issue is real? Yet you give me and others crap about running this team....omg...the truth is I am glad you're not running this team. I did like your other picks though would be great if Jones was there at 27.

Love this post and it hits home, great post.

P.S. I hate to tell you but the Cowboys are also really high on Ajayi. At least they were until the knee injury news broke. If that news is incorrect, do not be surprised to see him in a Cowboys uniform in training camp. That is much more likely than seeing AP in a Cowboys uniform.

Actually they are high on Gurley, Gordon in the 1st and Coleman in the second. Ajayi only if he falls to the late 2nd or 3rd.

Don't be surprised Friday when AD is a Cowboy for next years 2nd rd pick.

I love the public game of back and forth between teams. Everybody's digging in about what they want and what they're willing and not willing to give up.

I still think this deal goes down, but I'm definitely glad that it will be coming to an end by the weekend.

This will explode if we do sign Peterson, maybe another 100 pages.

Reports like this one don't surprise me at all as I very much feel that the Cowboys are playing it cool with any interest they may have.

They have made it abundantly clear that they're not interested in paying a high price to acquire Peterson and I agree with them. If Speilman and the Vikings are demanding that much? They can keep him, his bloated contract, and any and all problems that come with it.

They can fight it out in the offseason, force a disgruntled player to play 'for them or nobody', and turn a bad situation into an even worse one. They can worry about the player giving his best effort, or playing at all if he's not 'injured'. They can worry about any fumbles being true fumbles or a loose grip on the ball.

And then, in 2016, they can worry about having to pay him even more money with him being a year older, or cut him and get absolutely, positively nothing in return for him.

If a trade doesn't happen by the draft, it's no longer the Cowboys' or us fans' problem. It's solely a problem between Peterson and the Vikings.

And all that comes with it.

Based on all the latest reports all these backs could be gone by the 27th pick. Gurley-Dolphins, Coleman-Lions, Gordon Cards/Ravens/Chargers. That leaves Yeldon and Duke...this is a SB team they need to make a run at AD.

You continue to rule out a trade up by the FO. That is a real possibility.

See the post above. It ain't happening.

Yes see the post above this is exactly why some of us want this guy...

You guys crack me up. Half of you are trying to convince everyone that all the RBs in the draft, with the exception of Gurley, suck and won't be good picks. Then you have another guy trying to claim that most of the backs will be gone in the first round.

In other news, the Ticket just had a segment on Peterson and said sources say that the Cowboys have had no contact with Minnesota or AP and are not interested.

Keep wishing on that star, guys!
