You guys crack me up. Half of you are trying to convince everyone that all the RBs in the draft, with the exception of Gurley, suck and won't be good picks. Then you have another guy trying to claim that most of the backs will be gone in the first round.

You 'crack me up' too. Because it doesn't matter who we do or don't get, we're assured of success, as long as it's not Adrian Peterson. He's apparently the only wrong answer in the entire running game equation. We can get anybody in the 3rd through 5th rounds - or just stay put with Darren McFadden and our running game will be fine.

"Remain calm, all is well!"

In other news, the Ticket just had a segment on Peterson and said sources say that the Cowboys have had no contact with Minnesota or AP and are not interested.

You mean they just regurgitated what some guy named Charles Robinson (who I have yet to see break a single bit of NFL news) had to say? What a scoop, it's great that we have such wonderful sources of insider news.

Keep wishing on that star, guys!

And you keep on ignorantly and hypocritically posting in a thread that you want to somehow give the impression of looking down on.

I have made it abundantly clear that I think AP is the wrong back only because he costs too much. If he can be had for cheap, both in draft picks and financially, sign me up. But I think his price will be too high, so I'm out.

It's not only Robinson reporting this, so is Rappaport. Not sure who the Ticket was using as sources but they're have been numerous reports in the last few days that are similar.

Finally, have I ever complained that this thread is here? Hell, I'm glad it is because I like to debate. This is a forum, when a thread is created on it, people will post and *gasp* sometimes they will disagree with you. Get used to it.

You like to debate? You need to practice the definition before you claim to like it. Again to debate something you need to value the opinions of both sides. The only thing you value is your opinion.

See the post above. It ain't happening

Hey can you see this guy trying to tell Jimmy Johnson he is using the wrong form of the English language after Jimmy and the Cowboys won their first Super Bowl in the 90's. Wonder what Jimmy would have said to him before he had the players stick his head in a commode.

Yeah, that isn't exactly correct but whatever.

I don't disagree that AP is a great football player. I think he would be great behind this line. Where we differ is simply that I would not give up draft picks for a 30 year old RB nor a big contract. Get him for cheap and I'm okay with it. I just don't see that happening.

This team is going to suck for a few years once Romo is gone, and that is if we don't even bleed in free agency....This idea of going cheap and building for the future is just comical to me...

The only curve ball is the suspension of Greg Hardy, which creates issues once again at DL.

You have. But I think your own expressed 'floor' is down too far to be considered. While I think we could get him for about $8 million per year, I don't see any way to do it for $5 - $6 million. And I would be upset if we didn't do it over $2 million a year when we're paying scrub running backs $1.5.

It's not only Robinson reporting this, so is Rappaport. Not sure who the Ticket was using as sources but they're have been numerous reports in the last few days that are similar.

And don't get me wrong, I'm not disputing that they haven't talked. And I think that this 'info' is very public negotiations. I think the Cowboys are effectively saying "If these are your demands, we're not even picking up the phone because there's nothing to talk about".

And that's fine, but spare us the condescension directed to the folks on the other side of the argument. That unnecessary and not appreciated.

You, uh, do realize I did that on purpose, right? Lol

Regardless if the dude can't spell or not it was your way of making the point that you and your insight (OPINION) is 100% accurate and you're absolutely dialed into the FO and SJ's mind. Oh I get it

I am nervous about where we come out of this after the draft is over. I worry that we will wait our turn and see which backs are left over at the end of the 2nd round. This feels like the wrong approach for a position of need.

I have given up most hope of getting Peterson at this point. I do think getting him would be the right move but I just don't see it happening now. The way the salary cap and players negotiations have gone recently makes me think Stephen Jones wouldn't pay that much for a back. Heck look at how the Dez Bryant negotiations are going. The cowboys may be pushing some things just a little too far. Dez should have been signed a long time ago. Look at our moves so far....Hardball on Murray and let him walk. Hardball on Dez and franchised him. Structured a short term rental deal for Hardy. I think Stephen Jones may be a little too confident in their past draft successes and just believes he can get quality starters cheap in the draft...

Maybe he is right.....But it is hard to watch.

"You just don't see it happening", is a far different statement that your, "It ain't happening" , "Keep wishing on a star"

Are you simply trying to get a rise out of peeps?
