I don't understand why people are so ready to give up a 2nd or 3rd round pick who could cheaply contribute for 4 years for a 30 year old expensive RB that could contribute for 2 years if he defies the odds.

Because Peterson is the best running back in football, and nobody outside of three Cowboys fans on this forum, actually believe otherwise.

Congratulations on being 1 of 3.

I can almost certainly say they won't, because they for some reason believe the RB position matters.

And quite frankly, I don't give a **** less what other scouts would do. I'm not touching a 30 year old RB, I'm not trading for a 30 year old RB, and I would ONLY bring that RB in if he comes in on a cheap contract.

What part of 30 year old RB do you not understand? This isn't a 26-27 year old RB we are discussing here. Get over the mythical bull**** that comes with AP.

I have no "disdain" for Peterson. A 30 year old RB is a 30 old RB, doesn't matter if it's Peterson, Smith, or Sanders; an RB 30 or over is nearing the end. No thanks. Come here on a small contract and I'm all for it.

Then again, you were the same know-it-all, self-appointed board genius who swore up and down that there was no way Gurley and Gordon would go high in the draft and that either or both would be there for Dallas at #27.

Swing and a miss...

This thread still going with hope and butterflies or is it ready to die a natural death in the NFL Zone?

Just asking for the curious..

When we're currently looking at Darren McFadden as our best hope?

Yeah, I'd rather cling to this topic for my hope.

It was cunningham...Pead got injured the year before...thanks for the complement.

No, he didn't. Pead tore his ACL in the 2014 preseason when returning a kickoff. He was waived soon after.

Benny Cunningham didn't even have over 10 carries a freakin' game to start the season! Stacy had 19 carries against us.

Just stop.

Pead got injured, genius. Stacy was the starter at the beginning of the 2014 season.

Stacy now finds himself a distant fourth on the Rams' running back depth chart behind Gurley, Tre Mason and Benny Cunningham. Stacy followed up a promising rookie campaign with a miserable 2014, losing his job to Mason and rarely playing after Week 6. He's still only 24 but the Rams probably won't get much for the plodding 224-pounder.

Rams GM Les Snead said this week that he expects the offense to go with the "hot hand" in a given week at running back.
Exactly what Zac Stacy owners feared. While Stacy is listed as the Rams' starting running back, Benny Cunningham started the third preseason game and has by all accounts looked like the better back this summer

Zac Stacy and Benny Cunningham are sharing first-team reps during the Rams' Sunday warmups, but Stacy is working in first.

Rams RBs coach Ben Sirmans said that he "wouldn’t be surprised" if Zac Stacy took the first snaps in Sunday's opener against the Vikings.
Sirmans added that the final depth chart is "still to be determined." The fact Stacy has yet to be named the starter, however, confirms Benny Cunningham is going to have a role in the offense.

Your right....sounds like he was the clear cut guy....not.

Actually, I said Gurley would slip and that the most likely team to grab an RB first would be the Chargers. Get it right.

And I'm absolutely happy that Gurley went early and we never had the chance to take him. The Rams continue to show why they are mediocre every year.

I am hoping this is sarcasm.

What would be sarcastic about that post?

And understand the context here, we were discussing giving up LATE round picks for Stacy. Not premium picks, not from rounds 1 to 3. Seeing who we took in those rounds, yeah, I'd give up one of those picks for Stacy; a young bruising back. I also wanted to take Stacy as a backup, not a full-time starter.

They ALL looked terrible behind the offensive line. Mason had TWO impressive games, and was mediocre outside of that. The Rams had one of the worst run blocking lines in the NFL last year.

Stacy has 12 carries against us not 19. Only 3 more than Cunningham. By the end of the year Mason had basically taken all Stacy's carries.
