We already have a Zac Stacy on our roster.

His name is Darren McFadden.

Yeah, until he pulls a hamstring walking out to practice.

I'm excited to see the pictures of him injured and being looked at during TC.

And whether Mason looked terrible or not is really besides the point. The fact is, Mason did enough to warrant getting the bulk of the carries. If Stacy is this good TB, how couldn't he lock down a starting or co-starting gig? If Stacy was so good, even if hindered by a bad OL, how in the world does he get 15 carries over the last 8 games while Mason gets over 100?

Because Mason had a big game and they went with the hot hand. And guess what? It turns out, unsurprisingly, even Tre Mason couldn't keep it up. Why is that? Maybe it's because of running behind one of the worst offensive lines in the league!

Tre Mason had 2 good games last year, one against Seattle and the other against Denver. In the Denver game, he rushed 29 times and got 113 yards with an average of 3.9 yards a carry. His Oakland game, 90 of his yards came on a single run and he ended the game with 117 yards rushing. He had ONE game where he rushed above 5 yards a carry, he had seven games where he rushed below 4.
Well according to your stance on Stacy...that has to be attributed to the poor OL.

I'm still a firm believer that Peterson will be released. Will we sign Peterson? Doubtful. Seems our staff is happy with the group we have, sadly.

At this point, throw Peterson a cheap offer when he's released; if he doesn't accept, let him go somewhere else.

Now this post sounds so much closer to where many of us have been sitting for quite a long time.

I don't think our positions are as far apart as we may sometimes think.

Stacy didn't have the benefit of having a great QB throwing that season. He had Clemens. There were games where Stacy was putting the team on his back. He rushed for 134 yards against the Seattle Seahawks, 137 against the Titans, 133 against New Orleans, and over 100 against the Bucs. He had two games that helped bring his average down, one of them came against the Seahawks in the final game of the season; and we all know how that defense looked.

It was one thing to try to argue that Chaz Green is more valuable to us than Adrian Peterson. But now you decided to double down on the thinking by trying to argue that Zac Stacy is a good TB.

Or we could just accept reality and use some common sense.

That Mason was just a better TB. Usually, the simplest answer is the right one and when someone has to put on some creative spin job to justify their silly position, they are typically wrong.

Except it's not reality. We've already shown, outside of a couple games, Mason was far from spectacular. Stacy had games of 67 and 71 yards, and averaged 3.9 yards a carry. Outside of two games, that was pretty much the production they got from Mason. He only averaged 4.1 yards a carry.

Again, similar output due to piss poor offensive line play. Simple.

Similar output but yet one kept getting all the carries and one went games without getting carries.

Hmmmm............. wonder why? Oh maybe that Fisher and his staff just realized Mason was better and had more potential?

Nah............ that cant be it. mattjames from CZ says Stacy is a good TB. Those dumb Rams coaches.

They stuck with they thought was the hot hand. They did the same with Stacy in 2013 when everyone thought Richardson would be the starter.

And let's get something straight here, I don't think Mason is a bad RB either. But guess what? He was never available. I thought it would have been a better idea for the Rams to keep Stacy and Mason and focus on their offensive line in the draft. Mason and Stacy would have complimented each other well.

How much larger is that 500 number if we have Adrian Peterson?

And we had the most productive rb last year. Not the best.

Words have meaning.

AP has only run for more yards than that one time, so if he gets to 2000 a 2nd time that would be history making.
