I am totally against an artificial intelligence general manager. Such an entity will set in motion a chain of events ending in tragedy...

August 29, 2024, 11:02 am - Roger Goodell convinces Jerry Jones to test out its prototype A.I. system code named PT Barnum
August 30, 2024, 3:00 pm - Barnum brought online at Dallas Cowboys headquarters
August 30, 2024, 3:09 pm - Barnum virus infiltrates banking system and transfers all Jones account balances to the Salvation Army
August 31, 2024, 8:00 am - Enraged Johnnie Walker Blue Label intoxicated Jones fails to deactivate Barnum virus
August 31, 2024, 8:01 am - Skynet created by Barnum virus
August 31, 2024, 8:02 am - Skynet infiltrates Pentagon systems and launches nukes on Frisco, Texas
October 2, 2049, 5:59 pm - John Stephen Jones fails to stop T-800 secret time traveling mission to 1942 Los Angeles, California
February 14, 1942, 1:45 pm - T-800 knocks on front door
February 14, 1942, 1:46 pm - Arminta Jones answers
February 14, 1942, 1:47 pm - T-800 asks whether Sarah Connor is home
February 14, 1942, 1:48 pm - Arminta Jones says no one by that name lives there
February 14, 1942, 1:49 pm - T-800 says he will be back
February 14, 1942, 1:53 pm - T-800 drives pickup truck through living room during romantic Valentine's Day dinner at home

meh.

On second thought, an A.I. GM isn't that bad of an idea...

hasta la vista baby
T-800 would go back in time to kill jerry jones mom, whatever her name is.
That eliminates jerry. Then all is well with the cowboys again!

My question:
Would an AI general manager do better in choosing football players for the dallas cowboys or would jerry jones have more success

===

The success of an AI general manager versus Jerry Jones in choosing football players for the Dallas Cowboys would depend on various factors:

Advantages of an AI General Manager:

  1. Data Analysis:
    • AI can analyze vast amounts of data, including player statistics, performance metrics, injury history, and more, to make informed decisions.
    • Machine learning algorithms can identify patterns and predict future performance more accurately than human intuition.
  2. Objectivity:
    • AI operates without biases, ensuring decisions are based purely on data and not influenced by personal preferences or emotions.
  3. Consistency:
    • AI can maintain a consistent strategy, avoiding impulsive decisions or changes in direction that might occur with a human manager.

Advantages of Jerry Jones:

  1. Experience:
    • Jerry Jones has decades of experience in the NFL, understanding the intricacies of the game, team dynamics, and the league’s business aspects.
    • His knowledge of the Cowboys' culture and history provides context that an AI might lack.
  2. Human Insight:
    • Jones can leverage relationships with coaches, players, and other industry insiders to gather information that might not be available in data.
    • His intuition and gut feelings, honed over years in the industry, can sometimes lead to successful, unconventional decisions.
  3. Leadership and Vision:
    • Jones’ leadership and vision have been instrumental in shaping the Cowboys’ brand and strategy. His ability to inspire and motivate could be crucial in building a successful team.

Hybrid Approach:

A combination of both AI and human management could potentially yield the best results. AI can provide data-driven insights and recommendations, while Jerry Jones can apply his experience and intuition to make final decisions. This hybrid approach leverages the strengths of both AI and human expertise, ensuring a comprehensive and balanced strategy for team building.

Conclusion:

While AI offers significant advantages in data analysis and objectivity, Jerry Jones’ experience and human insight are invaluable. The most successful approach would likely be one that combines the strengths of both, utilizing AI to inform and enhance the decision-making process rather than completely replacing the human element.

Jerry Jones mother's name was Arminta Jones. You may have read that particular name very recently--like within the last 50 minutes. :muttley:

AI technology has recently become part of our everyday lives. It has also become more and more accepted as a legitimate resource to leverage for any problem.

Would our organization have a better chance of making a deep playoff run if Jerry was replaced by an AI “GM“ chat bot? The chat bot could be based on the NFL’s best GM’s the past ten years based on deep playoff run successes.

The new Cowboys GM would have the following advantages over the current GM.

1. Unlikely to draft a cold weather kicker
2. Immune to lawsuits from illegitimate children
3. Not subject to nepotism

Yeah, it’s the off-season and I’m bored lol.
We already have a hologram AI Jerry at the Star.

You know this would make a better terminator screenplay than the last 3 T movies had !
No end of world plot, just liberate the cowboys org.!!

The T-800's of the future got into football, and then saw what 1 man did to the cowboys, and decided they had to do something
about it!

If AI were to take over the Cowboys, Jerry would surely put out a contract on whoever or whatever invented it . . .:omg:

Not a good idea because it would open the door to hacking.

https://cset.georgetown.edu/article/hacking-poses-risks-for-artificial-intelligence/

"Like all software, artificial intelligence (AI)/machine learning (ML) is vulnerable to hacking. But because of the way it has to be trained, AI/ML is even more susceptible than most software—it can be successfully attacked even without access to the computer network it runs on."

I can already see Iggle or Gnat hackers gaining access and causing havoc. But on the flip side, Dallas hackers could do the same to them, of course.
Yeah, but it would be funny because the hacker would try to ruin the Cowboys and would prolly make them better!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That’s hilarious esp the part where Jerry as the GM the past three decades has experienced “success”. Don’t confuse Jimmy building a three time champ with Jerry as a GM because that was all Jimmy and the past 29 seasons should settle any doubts you might have.

Successful GMs must make difficult decisions and part with players they like. AI GM is the cold hearted sob this ball club needs.

Plus our drafts are not the problem, it's Jerry constantly playing head coach and undermining the hc.

What are the chances that Jerry is working on having an AI clone of him to take over after he kicks the bucket?
The problem is that Jerry acts very impulsive and makes final decisions without any fear of accountability. Spend an entire draft on special teams (2008)? No worries he answers to no one and the head coach is the designated fall guy when head coach Jerry‘s proven failed micromanagement produces the same predictable results.

But after Jerry passes, his idiot son will take over and he has been groomed to micromanage and continue the nepotism. We’ve all seen Stephen Jones. He’s a chip off the old block and has no nfl gm skills except he memorized the salary cap.

Or, just get some random 15 year old girl in here. She'd do better as GM.

thread is just straight up ridiculous and I realize it's supposed to be for entertainment, but I think that if you really wanted to talk about sci-fi time travel and changing the past...

You do realize one thing scientists all agree on is he changed one little thing it changes everything, butterfly effect...

so how do you make up for those 3 Super Bowls Jerry brought this franchise????

that the old regime only had two,

so the new owner whoever may have bought the Dallas Cowboys in 1989 might have moved the damn Dallas Cowboys, hmmm deep thought, they may not even be here anymore..

there'd be no more Super Bowls for the Dallas Cowboys in this scenario, would be one of the scenarios, meaning it could be far worse than complaining about one of three teams since 1989 has three championships or more which would be the Dallas Cowboys the Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots since 1989.

that's how tough it is to do , what he did he literally is better than the old franchise I know you're going to bring up all these winning traditions that Landry started here and that they didn't have a losing season for 20 years but they lost Super Bowls, they should have won... I mean I thought this was about winning Super Bowls, Dallas Cowboys era of Jerry Jones has three Super Bowls that's as many championships as the other three professional teams in DFW and that's one more than the old regime with Tom Landry and the old ownership group..

you do realize that you eliminate the fact that Jerry brought the team you eliminate 3 Super Bowls and you eliminate the fact that they may have never won another one...

they could end up being one of the teams in the NFL like the Buffalo Bills who never win a Super Bowl... I mean there are teams in this league with no Super Bowls and or 1 in their entire history... Jerry has three and somehow we want to rewrite history because we are in the cancel culture now we think eliminating Jerry Jones somehow fixes all our problems,

which they're not really problems IMHO that no other team experience except we're waiting on Super Bowl #6 and Jerry's waiting on super #4 ,you keep that in perspective keep wishing him gone and that's probably what you get a possibility that the Dallas Cowboys we're sold and moved and they're no longer here..

so kudos to everyone who don't think very far and very deeply even in a very ridiculously written and proposed thread, which is another in a long line of im bored so here is another ridiculous thought thread...
