Why is he bagging on cowboys fans.

I really dont understand troy. He basically insulted cowboys fans in the preseason gameday program. They only had one program this year for the preseason. It was a double size farewell to Texas stadium with interviews of of former players.

IN it Troy said cowboys fans are not loud except in the playoffs where the place can be rocking.

I dont understand why he has to be such a jerk towards the fans. If he doesnt like jerry that is fine. Why constantly bash the fans.

I am really dissapointed in him. It seems he goes out of his way to do this stuff alot. I take it personal when he says eagles fans are more passionate. All of those assumptions are built on steretypes.

and of all people troy should know not to believe in stereotypes.

It is really dissapointing to hear him say this stuff.

Actually, what he said is true overall. Obviously, the fans on this board are as passionate as anybody, but the fans at the games are far from the most enthusiastic or loudest in the NFL. I live in Jersey and have been to dozens of Giants games over the years. THAT'S a homefield advantage. Philly goes crazy (probably TOO crazy) and gets behind their D. In Dallas, you hear Gurode saying he was telling the crowd to quiet down when Dallas had the ball in the playoffs (what fan doesn't know to do that?) and you hear opponents say that Dallas is not a difficult place to play. I went to two Dallas games and couldn't believe how uninspired the crowd was. The Niners fans were louder in Texas Stadium. Aikman has no reason to bash Dallas fans. His commentating has proven that he is not a homer. He was simply stating what he has observed over the past 20 years.

I'd like to hear the actual interview before jumping to conclusions on Troy.

Me too.

However, I do agree that Eagles fans are more passionate than Cowboys fans if we are talking about the actual fans in those respective cities.

i forgot what game it was last year. it was nearing playoff time. he just freaking sat there and ripped the cowboys the entire game kind of vaguely . I remember there was a topic created aobut it and i was one of the ones talking badly about troy for it. yet so many on here kept saying he was just being unbiased ect ect

so to those people who want to defend aikman after this what do you haev to say he has it out for jerry or someone and its pretty obvious. kind of sucks.

It doesnt even matter to me adam. Aikman always has some subtle remark about the fans here. He even called all nfl fans today fair weather. I dont understand why he has all these hang ups with the fans.

personally i have never liked Troy as a commentator, he does seem to have some sort of love affair with McNabb and the Eagles, so it wouldnt suprise me if he actually said whats been said in this thread, more importantly i hate the way he breaks down a game... all he does is state the obvious, and talks like we the fans dont a thing about football.

Agreed CC. I have never thought Troy had orginality as a commentator. Actually, he's gotten better from when he first started. He has some sort of star appeal, and that's why I think Fox stayed with him, because he was absolutely flat his first two years as a commentator. I think Chris Collinsworth is a better commentator than him.

Because he got booed at the end of his HOF career? If anybody tells me they were at that game and booed, they have zero respect from me.

i might get ripped for this, lol...but i also like Collinsworth, whether he is doing a game or hosting a show.

while the comments philacowboy made were not 100% exactly word for word what Aikman said, i still believe the intent is there, Aikman just cant flat out say he likes the Eagles or any other team more than the Boys. he could easily say he wishes every team does well.

Aikman has no business telling Philly fans how great they are when those bums cheered when his friend Michael Irvin went down in that city.those people are a bunch a bums. not god fans.

I don't see anything wrong with what he said.

By all accounts, Texas Stadium isn't very loud. It might be at times, but it's generally pretty quiet, compared to other stadiums. And when the Cowboys are losing, it's usually worse. Blame the corporate ticket-holders or whatever, but it's never been known as a loud stadium.

And all sports fans generally are fair-weather fans. They get upset when their team loses. They want to get rid of players who are bad or who aren't earning their money. And they're happy and love the players when they win.

Aren't those the two points Troy made about fans?

I flew from Jersey to go to that game and witness that disgrace. Aikman had not done much wrong and the Cowboys were just getting outplayed by the hated Niners. But despite that, thousands of pathetic "fans" booed Aikman. I believe it was the mighty Randall Cunningham they were calling for...what a shame.

and? Imagine what the vet would have sounded like had he played there in 89 or 90. Pretty fair trade. Fans love aikman. He has nothing to complain about when it comes to being loved.
