For the past couple of years, I've heard from various members of this site about Aikman's supposed hatred and bias for the Cowboys. And after watching this past sunday's game against Washington, all I have to say is.......You guys are RIGHT!!
Ooh...The Cowboys aren't the class of the NFC.
Ooh...The Cowboys have an unfair advantage by playing at home on Thanksgiving and shouldn't be allowed to have a home game before Thanksgiving.
And Ooh...Garrett will be a HC with another team next year.

Well you know what, at 9-1 the Cowboys are the Class of the NFC and will have every opportunity to prove it with their schedule playing the best that the NFC has to offer.
You never heard him complaining about Thanksgiving games when he played in them, in fact some of his best games were played on Thanksgiving.
And lastly...I hate to tell you Troy, but when Jason Garrett is ready...he'll go. Every year some coaches butt is on the hot seat and to say that the window of opportunity will close next year is completely inaccurate. I'll stop short of saying that maybe some of that animosity may be caused by how the Cowboys were when his career ended and now it looks like some of the first records to fall in Dallas will be Aikman's...but if it keeps up, well it kind of makes you wonder. We will see if his attitude keeps up as the year progresses. To bad he won't be on hand for the Green Bay game.
Later...Dred

1. First of all I did not hear Troy ever say Dallas was not the class of the NFC. Even if he did, as long as he believes then it is an opinion he is entitled to. It is not like Green Bay is a dog.

2. Would you rather be playing this game at home or on the road?

3. Garrett very well could be HC somewhere next year. If you were a GM hiring a new coach would you consider him?

Sad to see people will not let Troy Aikman just be a professional and instead would rather him be a second rate analyst and toot the Cowboy horn because he used to be a Cowboy.

He calls it like he sees it. Not saying everything he says is right, but it is an opinion. Why don't you post all the good things he said about the Cowboys or does that not fit into your agenda?

Troy's job requires him to be objective. Being a living Cowboys legend, I suspect very strongly that he roots for the Boys in private all of the hours he is not on camera.

He's right about Thanksgiving. The NFL should always make the playing field as even as possible. No reason not to.

I think Troy tries too hard to not be a homer. He's really good in the booth just not when he is doing Cowboy games.

Bingo!

I remember when I was a Cub Scout back in the 60's and my mom, who bordered on doting, was the "Den Mother"...

She went soooo far out of her way NOT to show any "favoritism" towards me during Den Meetings... that I often felt like I was on the outside looking in.

Eventually I threatened to fire her if she didn't shape up.... :)

I think Troy may overcompensate in an exaggerated attempt NOT to appear partisan. He's ALSO human and prone to many of the flaws that affect non-NFL-calibre talent like me and you.

It's all a matter of perspective.

At the same time, all I heard here in NY on WFAN after the Giant game was that Aikman was so clearly rooting for the Cowboys that it was annoying.

I think he's very objective and does a great job.

It's pretty obvious he hates the City of Dallas for not buying their Cars at Aikman Ford. With his dealership now bought out, the Cowboys must pay for the fans shortcomings. Good Job Dallas Area residents!

Please do shutup
I agree Troy shuld shut up. He is a has been and Tony is the rising star that is going to demolish all his records even the three SB's. Troy is a bit sour at the moment but he will come around.
I must say that even though Irvin had his off the field problems he is a class act and supports the cowboys he was the first person to say dallas should pick up T.O. and Staubach is also very classy he has even said he thinks romo may be better then he was.
Troy is so bitter but he needs to remember he had his time to shine and now is Tony's. I don't remeber Roger bad mouthing Troy when he tookover or talking trash on the Boys of the 90's.
Troy please shut up it just reminds us all that you are a has been and we like to think of you as a all time great and a hall of famer and superbowl champ not as a bitter has been.

So many idiots.......so few bullets.
Well if you used one on yourself you could get rid of one idiot and not have to worry about dealing with all the other Troy homers. You guys are prolly the same people who live in the past. 5 Superbowls blah blah blah don't you get tired of saying that? I did in 99 I want more. I want something now. So Troy means as much to me now as them 5 Championships do. Tony means something T.O. means something and this 9-1 season means something. Nothing else matters now.

I'm right there with you Hos.

What did Troy say that was so bad?

He said the Cowboys are the team to beat, but maybe not with how well they are playing. Truth, for a few quarters there we weren't playing to well.

He said Campbell was playing well and has really come along. Truth, he was taking care of our secondary.

Cowboys and Lions shouldn't get a home game before thanksgiving. I agree, but I still like it that we do :)

I mean seriously, you guys are don't like Troy because he isn't a blind homer like Mike.

It is the Sandy Duncan look alike in the booth with him that I can't stand. At times I find myself telling Troy to shut it during games, but I guess he can't be seen as too much of a homer. I think Moose is just as good as he is, and in fact I like their crew better than Aikman and Buck.

I am so sick of hearing they can't look like homers because Irvin was a complete homer when he was on tv and Emmitt is now as is Jimmy. They all say we when they should say they and get a little to in to the replays.
Did you see how jimmy reacted last week? Troy is bitter.

And it is insulting because the team he is talking about made him what he is the people who cheer for that team week in and week out are the ones who paid his check so he needs to shut up.
And just so everyone knows it isn't helping him any because My brother is an Eagles fan and he puts the TV on mute and listens to the eagles radio broadcast online form a philly station because he and his buddys who are eagles fans say the only thing worst then listening to Troy is listening to troy cheer for the eagles.
