Ajayi would be a move if they weren't expecting Zeke back anytime soon. This move screams a deal will get done. Morris is likely just a veteran presence in camp that will be gone by week 1.
what I don't get about this Morris move -
1) Morris is not noted as a blitz blocker,
2) he has very average receiving skills so he doesn't help us there either.
the two things he has going for him is game experience and run instincts, he does sense openings between tackle well, but also the very reason why he is still out there on the street is
he does not have the "splash" factor burst
- and remember he was benched/game inactive because they wanted more splash and burst from McFadden in 2016
- and it's a reason why Morris was not re-sign with the Cowboys after 2017.
3) as far as game experience, the team was willing to go with Rod Smith and his lack of game experience but now would so with Morris ?
- also the more reps Alf takes in camp/preseason, that's reps and snaps taken away from the young guys which camp-preseason is the PERFECT time for them to get reps/experience.
