Let me guess the same people that said Dak is garbage were also in the Morris is garbage camp. Morris was always a solid signing and a great value. Im glad hes beginning to prove it.

I don't think that's true at all.

Morris was viewed by a large majority of people here as a good depth signing.

Right now, I'm wondering what the Commander fans are going to think when they discover how Alfred Morris is doing with the Cowboys.

I've been thinking some of them might question why they gave up on him to begin with. It might be a bit entertaining to find out -- lol.
The only guy they have that has been doing decent at all, Matt Jones, separated his shoulder last night. And frankly, Jones hasn't been doing that well anyway.

Their fan base was fired up about Keith Marshall, the guy at Georgia who didn't play because of Gurley and injuries. Washington drafted him in the seventh round. He ran one of the fastest times at the combine and everyone was saying "What a find by SMAC!!"

LOL, until the pads came on and they realized the guy has zero run instincts, vision, toughness, and football IQ.

Actually, I'm shocked that Washington let Morris get away. He is a better back than Matt Jones any day, and twice on Sunday's. Many of their fans are getting more and more upset that he was allowed to walk, leaving just an unproven and injury prone Matt Jones behind.

The fact that he's in Dallas and is looking very good is salt in their wound, big time.

RB pecking order: Zeke, Morris, DMC. This will easily be the best stable of backs in the NFL.

Gone: Jackson and Dunbar, but for different reasons. Jackson is not better than DMC right now. If we stash him on the PS, he's as good as gone. Some team will snatch him up. I think he will get a ton of carries to showcase him for a potential trade and lessen unnecessary wear and tear on our horses.

Dunbar is gone because Zeke and DMC replicates what he does although Dunbar may be more explosive. He just can't stay healthy. He was one of a few bright spots during our 4-12 debacle, but like clockwork, he got hurt again and still is.

Our OL is great but what I'm seeing Morris do is breaking tackles that Randle could not last year. He has very good vision, doesn't go down easily, falls forward and gets extra yards. He is going get us the dirty yards.

Randle broke plenty of tackles last year. The line simply did not block all that well early in the season (likely due to Martin recovering). Randle was the best back on the team last year, but he was a maroon.

That said, Morris looks better.

The Cowboys have three starting caliber running backs on the squad. My guess is we have three top 15 running backs on our team here.

McFadden was 4th in the league last year despite Joseph Randle being the starter for the first 4 games of the season. Some of this was due to injury, but I think the recent success McFadden had puts him in the argument for a top 15 spot. Maybe that is unfair because a lot of other running backs could have success behind this line, but fact is he did it.

More importantly though is Alfred Morris who is only in his 5th year in the nfl with rushing yard ranks of 21, 11, 4, and 2.

I think we're seeing what Morris can do again with the right pieces around him. I think he is going to have a really stellar year. Right now he is 4th in the league in preseason rushing yards. George Atkinson had 1 run of 53 yards, where the majority of his production comes from. Morris fits our scheme perfectly and really gets those dirty yards. The fact that we don't need him to carry this team says a lot about how good Elliott is. I think unlike Murray though, we're going to be able to keep Elliott fresh, and have some really successful running production in the playoffs. I think that is the biggest argument for keeping McFadden this year.

The fact that we got Morris for so cheap and for two years is such a great deal for us. Very excited about what these running backs can do for us behind this line.
Great write up and very true, we got Morris on the cheap !!!

He's one reason I wanted to trade down from 4th overall and get 2-3 good picks for 1

Zeke will be great but it seemed like taking sand to the beach.

Beaches get eroded and need new sand....just like having sand insurance...lol....

Morris looks fantastic and I am stoked we have him.

However I kept telling myself last night if Zeke was in the game with some of those holes it would have been a 80 yard score here, 50 yarder there. Get ready folks, we have some talent!!!

I think Zeke gets brunt of the carries from qtrs 1-3 and I think Morris will be the closer like MB3 in the 4th getting most of the RB in the 4th.

When they signed Morris I thought that WAS the answer at running back. And had no issue with it.

Me too. I thought that he and DMC would make a real good combo with Dunbar as the third down back. Still don't see the point of drafting Zeke but...hope it works out.

So who goes? DMC I would suppose. Zeke and AM will make a punishing combo and we can sprinkle Dunbar in. Doesn't leave any space for DMC at all. Too bad he hurt himself doing something stupid or we could have gotten a late round pick for him. Won't get anything now.

I think that even Dunbar is up in the air. But for scheme fit DMC is the worst option. DMCs production was mediocre when they ran mostly ZBS with Randle as the starter, his numbers got better when he was named a starter becuase they went more man blocking than zone blocking. I just do not see many plays available for DMC to run in the dedicated ZBS.

I saw Randle go down many times on first contact. Type of contact Morris is easily breaking this year.

Seeing this post makes me think about McFadden. Is this line really that good? HELL YEAH! Yesterday I saw Collins absolutely abuse a DT, and on the same play, I saw Fredrick push two people out of the way, same play, I saw Martin move his guy out of the way. This offensive line is down right abusive in a good way.

Any running back in the world would salivate over playing behind this line right now. I may be changing my mind on Jerry Jones, he built a wall.

And it was missing its best player too.

This offensive line is sick. Almost unfair really.

Strange how declining veteran running backs are suddenly revitalized when they run behind this line.

Just imagine what an elite back could do.

Zeke, so your thing.

If Jackson gets a ton of carries with the starting OL I'm willing to bet he doesn't get cut but is kept on the team and McFadden is gone

Alfred Morris needs to start and EE needs to prove he can take the job from him. Alfred looks Damm good in this system.
