As long as we play well, I'll enjoy the playoffs but if we don't play well I won't be hearing from you for a awhile. You won't care to rehash any of this discussion. lol
Sure I will. I'm not a **ssy like others on here. Like when you disappeared in 2014. You've been on here less this year too.

What was your prediction for this year?

I figured posting it would ruffle some feathers and yes had we won last week everyone wouldn't be pissing on that stat. Stats and facts that don't favor our current team never go over well.
Oh. Finally someone backs you up. You should be proud. His post count has been noticeably down. At least his opinions. He should stick to posting news for now on. He's good at that. It'll be fun to see your reactions when we win it all.

We've built a monster team and it will only get better.

Deal

Posistive note for you. If we lose think how you can tell the internet how you knew it all along. You should be proud of yourself.

I posted during our winning streak in 2014, then a family member got sick and I was off the board for a few weeks. You and a few others are so consumed by me you noticed I was gone. lol I returned "during" our winning streak and some of you were being so ridiculous you claimed I was off the board because I was disappointed the team was winning. I got news for you pale, I've posted more this season than I've ever posted so you're full of it claiming I've been on here less this season. I haven't missed a day of posting this entire season and my posting history will back that up and further expose your childish agenda. The only prediction I made this season came during preseason immediately after Romo went down, when I predicted if Dak continues to play well it's his job to lose and Romo will never get it back. :hammer:

What's there to back me up on? I posted a stat and you a few others are putting your own spin on it.

If anything jinxes us it will be following the same formula that led to a one and done in 07. Hopefully Dak and Zeke don't spend their off week in Cabo.

Say what you will but it clearly shows that finishing the regular season strong and have momentum entering the playoffs makes a huge difference in the playoffs, at least for this franchise it has.

It doesn't "clearly show" anything. Most of those finales were before the advent of the 16 game season. Or, before the team moved to Valley Ranch. Or,when Landry was head coach. Or, when they played at Texas Stadium.

So, all we have to do is steal some of Jimmy Johnson's and Barry Switzer's DNA, inject it into the reanimated corpse of Tom Landry, and perform a sacred ritual at the site of the old stadium (you can't rebuild it in a week after all) and we will win. Done deal...as long as Landry's DNA doesn't carry forward his SB losses.

If the Cowboys reach the SB this season they'll be the first Cowboys team to ever reach the SB after losing it's regular season finale. Our history points to how important it's been to end the regular season on a winning note entering the playoffs if we're going to reach the SB. Our 1994 team was a great team but lost it's season finale and ended up losing in the NFC title game.

What were the circumstances of those games.
Like the 1993 team was playing for the Division and HF against the Giants.
The 1995 team the same going to Arizona.

I think the 1992 team was playing for a bye I think.
The 94 team I beleive had nothing to play for.

It's already been mentioned those teams still had something to play for which kept them focused and playing their best football heading into the playoffs. My question is when has wrapping everything up early ever benefitted the Cowboys?

It doesn't clearly show anything to you because you're in denial. If everyone of those SB teams lost their season finale everything would you look a lot clearer to you. What that stat clearly shows is that despite different players, coaches and decades, having momentum entering the playoffs resulted in our most successful seasons. Even today every team talks about peaking and playing their best football at playoff time. Garrett talked about maintaining our momentum and even Dez was talking about it during the Detroit postgame but that all went out the window prior to kickoff against Philly and it resulted in our worst game of the season.

I REPEAT it doesn't mean we won't reach the SB but the football Gods usually don't take kindly to teams that mail games in at the end of the season that are looking ahead to the playoffs. The Giants did what's led them to championships in the past despite a different HC and that's playing to win even though their game with Washington was meaningless.

I like to see that stat for all Superbowl teams. 8 just seems rather small sample size to be concerned about it. Considering we played a backup qb for most of the game.

I wholeheartedly agree with that assessment. Assuming that our last regular game record prevents us from winning a Super Bowl this year or any year is somewhat far-fetched, imho. All the facts must be weighed for anyone to conclude that the records of one single game are convincing.

The Eagles game means nothing. Some of the backups actually played well. Nobody got injured. That's what mattered more then anything else. They steamrolled the Lions with their starters the week before. Your team has no chance when Mark Sanchez is your starting Quarterback. He was painful to watch. Eagles fans were acting like they won the Super Bowl. Pathetic fanbase but I feel good. The Cowboys are ready for the playoffs

The old correlation/causation saw. Burden of proof lies with you to show causation. You've failed to do that. I'm enjoying your attempts to try and/or conflate the two.

What is the spin?

The spin is that I'm saying we're not going to reach the SB because we lost our season finale. I've lost track how many have have claimed I'm saying this and I'm saying that, when I haven't said any of it.

I tend to agree about the Eagles game being meaningless. The players on the sidelines were thoroughly enjoying their situation of sitting by while those that were in did what they could to salvage a nearly impossible lineup being utilized. Sanchez's performance alone made it so, not to even mention the many that were held out as a precaution. The players that will participate in the playoffs will be better off for their non participation in that final regular season game by a longshot. They will be rested, healthy and ready to rock. I'd say it's cause for optimism over the opposite.

I showed that everyone of our 8 SB teams had momentum entering the playoffs with at least 2 straight wins. You can live in denial all you want but it's a proven fact that everyone of our SB teams were riding a wave of momentum into the playoffs. Not only did everyone of those teams win their season finale but most of them kicked butt. The 1970 team pounded the Oilers 52-10 in the regular season finale. The 71 team dismantled the Cardinals 31-12 in the regular season finale. The 78 team thumped the Jets 30-7 in the regular season finale and The 95 team destroyed the Cardinals 37-13 in the regular season finale.

Even with those games wrapped up we took no prisoners because those teams had a killer instinct. Although we tied a franchise record this season with 13 wins we were 2-2 our final 4 games and the only SB team we had that finished with a 500 record the last 4 games of the regular season was the 95 team but it finished that season with 2 straight wins including that 37-13 blowout over the Cardinals. We'll see if laying down and allowing Philly to kick us in the teeth last week pays off for us in the playoffs.
